Description:
Impresiv Health is seeking an experienced Director of Financial Accounting to support a large academic health system during a major enterprise transformation.

In this operational backfill role, you will assume key responsibilities currently held by a Director of Financial Accounting, allowing existing finance leadership to focus full-time on the organization’s Workday deployment.

This hands-on leadership position is responsible for people management and financial accounting operations. You will maintain continuity across financial close, reporting, internal controls, technical accounting, and daily accounting activities.

The successful candidate must have previous financial accounting experience within a hospital or health system and be prepared to quickly assume responsibility within a large, complex finance organization.

  • Manage, mentor, and develop accounting team members and associated workflows.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
  • Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Oversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and related accounting activities.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Research and resolve complex accounting and financial issues.
  • Apply technical accounting expertise to transactions, reporting matters, and operational challenges.
  • Partner with finance and operational leaders to develop practical solutions to financial accounting issues.
  • Support audit activities and financial documentation requirements.
  • Maintain effective accounting processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and control.
  • Provide leadership continuity while existing finance leaders support the Workday implementation.
  • Work effectively within the organization’s current PeopleSoft financial environment.

You Will Be Successful If:

  • You can quickly establish credibility with finance, operational, and executive stakeholders.
  • You are comfortable stepping into an established finance organization and taking ownership of critical accounting functions.
  • You can lead an existing team while minimizing disruption to daily operations.
  • You combine strong technical accounting expertise with exceptional people leadership.
  • You can independently identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement practical solutions.
  • You can maintain the accuracy and timeliness of financial operations during a major enterprise transformation.
  • You thrive in a large, complex hospital or health-system environment.

What You Will Bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Significant progressive financial accounting experience, including leadership at the Director, Controller, Assistant Controller, or comparable level.
  • Previous financial accounting experience within a hospital or health system. This is required.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for financial close and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, general ledger accounting, and financial accounting processes.
  • Experience managing and developing accounting professionals.
  • Strong technical accounting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • The ability to assume responsibility for an established operation with limited disruption.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • PeopleSoft Financials experience is preferred.
  • Experience within a large integrated health system or academic medical center is preferred.
  • Previous Controller or Assistant Controller experience within a hospital or health system is preferred.
  • Experience maintaining financial operations during an ERP implementation or another major enterprise transformation is preferred.
