Work Schedule: Pacific Time Business Hours
Description:
Impresiv Health is seeking an experienced Application Analyst and QA Lead to provide independent second-level validation of a health plan software implementation. The consultant will evaluate configured workflows after the vendor completes first-level quality assurance (QA), verify defect corrections, and assess release readiness before the client begins User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
This is a hands-on application analysis and software testing role requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide clear testing evidence and actionable findings. The ideal candidate will collaborate with vendor development teams, QA resources, and business stakeholders to ensure application functionality meets business requirements and quality standards.
What You Will Do:
- Review business requirements, configuration decisions, prior test results, and known failure patterns to develop and execute a focused validation plan.
- Perform end-to-end testing of business workflows, including user roles, authentication, permissions, approvals, notifications, document uploads, reporting, and system integrations.
- Independently reproduce reported defects, verify corrective actions, and conduct regression testing to identify recurring or related issues.
- Maintain detailed testing evidence aligned with business requirements, defects, testing environments, and application builds or configuration versions.
- Review and reconcile conflicting defect statuses, ensuring vendor-reported fixes are independently verified before closure.
- Evaluate UAT entry criteria and communicate release-blocking defects, accepted exceptions, and outstanding risks to project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with vendor development teams, first-level QA resources, and business advisors to coordinate defect triage, retesting, and escalation.
- Support client UAT activities, deployment verification, and post-implementation stabilization, including monitoring recurring defects.
- Document troubleshooting procedures, known issues, and reproducible defect evidence to support operational handoff.
- Prepare and maintain second-level QA plans, traceable test scenarios, defect verification records, regression testing results, release readiness assessments, and production stabilization reports.
You Will Be Successful If:
- You identify material application defects and workflow issues before the client begins UAT.
- You consistently validate defect resolutions through documented retesting and supporting evidence.
- You maintain accurate, traceable testing documentation connecting requirements, defects, application builds, and test results.
- You provide objective release readiness assessments that accurately communicate outstanding risks and potential business impacts.
- You effectively collaborate with vendor teams and business stakeholders to resolve issues while maintaining independent quality oversight.
- You support a smooth transition through UAT, deployment, and stabilization by identifying recurring defects and ensuring timely escalation.
- You maintain clear accountability boundaries, recognizing that Inovaare retains responsibility for development, first-level QA, and vendor release certification.
What You Will Bring:
- Minimum of five years of experience in application analysis, software quality assurance, implementation testing, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience testing complex business workflows, role-based access controls, system integrations, and regression scenarios.
- Experience working with health plan, payer, or healthcare operational systems, including business user acceptance testing.
- Strong ability to document reproducible defects, assess severity, and maintain detailed, build-specific testing evidence.
- Experience collaborating with vendor engineering and development teams while independently evaluating application quality and release readiness under delivery pressure.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, communicate risks, and maintain testing standards in a fast-paced implementation environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Inovaare or comparable governance, risk, compliance, or healthcare payer workflow platforms.
- Familiarity with Jira or similar defect management and tracking tools.
- Working knowledge of SQL, data validation, APIs, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Familiarity with test automation tools and methodologies, where appropriate.
