About The Role

ABOUT THE ROLE  
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable HR Business Partner to join the Otonomee team. The successful candidate will support HR activities across our operations in Colombia and the United States, partnering closely with business leaders and employees to deliver an exceptional employee experience. 

As an HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing HR support and guidance to our organization, with a specific focus on Colombian and US employment legislation, employee relations, policies, procedures, and HR best practices. 

This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of employment practices across multiple jurisdictions and the ability to effectively navigate complex HR issues in a fast-growing international business. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with a proven track record of partnering with business leaders to drive HR initiatives. 
This is a permanent work from home role. 
 
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING 
 
Strategic HR Support: 
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and managers to understand business objectives and align HR strategies and initiatives accordingly.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, providing expert guidance on HR matters and helping to drive organizational effectiveness.
  • Proactively identify HR trends, issues, and opportunities to anticipate and address potential challenges or risks.
Employee experience  
  • Will be a key stakeholder in creating and maintaining a culture of great employee experience
  • Help support and drive engagement initiatives. 
  • Helping to build a best-in-class remote BPO where our team members are at the centre of everything we do 
Employment Law Expertise & Compliance (Colombia & US) 
  • Ensure full compliance with Colombian labour law and applicable US federal, state, and local employment regulations, providing guidance on employment contracts, working hours, leave entitlements, disciplinary procedures, terminations, and other legal requirements.
  • Stay up to date on changes in employment legislation and regulatory requirements in both Colombia and the United States, communicating relevant updates to the organization.
  • Provide expert advice to management on an array of topics in accordance with Colombian and US employment law.
  • Act as the primary HR liaison with our Employer of Record (EOR), partnering closely to ensure compliance with local employment legislation, manage employee lifecycle processes, and mitigate organisational risk across Colombia and the United States.
 
HR Policies and Procedures: 
  • Develop, implement, and review HR policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with local labour laws and best practices.
  • Support the implementation and localisation of HR policies and practices across Colombia and the US.
  • Educate employees and managers on HR policies, ensuring awareness and adherence to established guidelines.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure policy compliance and identify areas for improvement.
 
Employee Relations and Conflict Resolution: 
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and workplace investigations
  • Investigate and address employee complaints or concerns in a timely and fair manner, following company protocols and local labour laws.
  • Mediate disputes and facilitate effective communication between employees and managers.
HR Data Analysis and Reporting: 
  • Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present HR reports to management, providing insights and recommendations to drive informed decision-making.

Your profile


ABOUT YOU:  
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Extensive experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist, with a focus on both US and Colombian labour law and corrective action processes.
  • Strong knowledge of US and Colombian HR practices.
  • Experience working with an Employer of Record (EOR) model would be advantageous
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive insights and support decision-making.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
