Ciklum is looking for a Senior Python Engineer  to join our team full-time in Poland.

About the role:

As a Senior Python Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. The client is a healthcare platform focused on mental health services. It enables clients to schedule appointments with psychologists and psychotherapists while integrating with various US insurance providers and mental health networks. The platform offers subscription packages for mental health and ensures accessibility through multiple insurance options.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services for a cloud-based mental health platform, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Build and maintain REST APIs and integrations with third-party healthcare, insurance, and external service providers
  • Implement and maintain business logic for synchronized data processing, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and reliability across distributed systems
  • Develop scalable microservices using Python and modern backend frameworks (FastAPI and/or Flask)
  • Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, backend engineers, product teams, and infrastructure specialists to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Participate in code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement of the codebase
  • Support and enhance cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), working with Kubernetes-based environments
  • Contribute to infrastructure automation using Terraform and support CI/CD pipelines to improve development and deployment workflows
  • Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues, ensuring platform stability, reliability, and operational excellence
  • Partner with infrastructure engineers to improve platform scalability, observability, and operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Python Software Engineer
  • Strong proficiency in Python 3.9+
  • Hands-on experience with FastAPI or Flask (experience with both is highly preferred)
  • Proven experience designing and implementing REST APIs and integrating with third-party APIs
  • Experience building distributed systems and microservices, including gRPC and asynchronous messaging (Pub/Sub or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema design, advanced querying, and performance optimization
  • Solid experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native application development and containerized workloads
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional, distributed teams
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Availability for at least 2 hours of overlap with the Pacific Time zone for daily collaboration and handoffs

Desirable:

  • Experience with Django 4.x
  • Experience with React or modern frontend development
  • Experience with Helm
  • Familiarity with Atlantis
  • Experience working in healthcare, health-tech, or regulated environments
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, and production incident response
