Physician Practice Analyst I - WFH

Department:

Job Description:

Remote Eligibility: Candidates must reside and work full-time in AR, KS, MO, OK, or TX before their first day of employment.

Physician Practice Analyst I gathers and analyzes key healthcare data from multiple sources (internal clinical data, patient data, claims data, market demographics data, external benchmarking, etc.) to drive strategic decision-making within the physician practice clinics. This role reports to the Mgr Physician Practice Analytics and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights and recommendations that will improve patient access and inform clinical growth programming, and overall business growth and operations transformations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing high level analysis related to service line opportunities for financial improvement, business and strategic planning, and business development.  

  • Provides operational analysis related to various access benchmarking indicators

  • Reviews, interprets and analyzes financial and statistical data, develops reports and makes recommendations with the intent of improving business performance, financial reporting and goal achievement of OU Health.

  • Develop and facilitate data collection, data analysis and data storytelling for market intelligence initiatives.

  • Gather and aggregate data from multiple sources.

  • Ability to present complex systems in a simple manner to clinic managers

  • Assists in developing business tools and processes as needed to support strategic planning and growth initiatives across the physician practice.

  • Incorporates other existing organizational data and reporting technologies with analytic tools.

  • Creates and maintains report library, documentation, and standards

  • Creates data reports for internal customers within the system.

  • Supports physician practice operations through management and reporting of physician-specific analytics including quality, outcomes and productivity.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.

Experience: 0 - 3 years of professional work experience. Experience in data analytics or strategic planning preferred.

License/Certifications: None required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required

  • Ability to translate analytics into actionable process change within the physician practice & ambulatory operations

  • Experience with creating reports and conducting analysis within Epic & Excel are required

  • Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT and DRG coding concepts

  • Understanding of market research and intelligence methods.

  • An ability to converse with excellent verbal & written communication skills to multiple layers of stakeholders in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Excellent problem solving and project management skills.

  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office tools.

  • Contributes to strategic planning, direction and goal setting of the department or function.
