Job description

Email Marketing Specialist – HubSpot, Klaviyo, Automation & Campaigns

Full-Time | Remote | U.S. Business Hours

About the Role

At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring an Email Marketing Specialist to build, execute, and optimize email campaigns, automated workflows, and audience segmentation strategies that drive engagement, conversions, and revenue.

This is a hands-on email marketing role where you’ll own the full lifecycle — from campaign creation and copywriting to automation, list management, deliverability, testing, and performance analysis.

If you know how to turn email into a measurable growth and revenue channel, this role is a strong fit.

What You’ll Own

Email Campaign Development & Execution

  • Build and launch email campaigns using platforms such as:
    • HubSpot
    • Klaviyo
    • Marketo
    • Mailchimp
    • ActiveCampaign
  • Write compelling:
    • Subject lines
    • Email copy
    • Calls-to-action (CTAs)
  • Tailor messaging to different audience segments and lifecycle stages
  • Build and edit responsive email templates
  • Make basic HTML/CSS adjustments when required
  • Ensure campaigns are tested and error-free before launch

Email Automation & Nurture Workflows

  • Build automated email sequences and behavioral workflows
  • Create and optimize:
    • Lead nurture sequences
    • Drip campaigns
    • Re-engagement campaigns
    • Abandoned cart flows
    • Lifecycle campaigns
  • Configure triggers, timing, conditions, and audience rules
  • Test automation workflows to ensure accurate execution
  • Continuously improve sequences based on engagement and conversion data

Audience Segmentation & List Management

  • Manage email databases ranging from 20K to 200K+ contacts
  • Segment audiences based on:
    • Persona
    • Lifecycle stage
    • Engagement
    • Geography
    • Customer behavior
  • Maintain clean and organized contact data
  • Remove or suppress bounced, inactive, and high-risk contacts
  • Protect overall list quality and sender reputation

Deliverability & Compliance

  • Monitor email deliverability, inbox placement, and sender reputation
  • Support configuration and management of:
    • SPF
    • DKIM
    • DNS settings
    • Suppression lists
  • Monitor bounce rates, spam complaints, and unsubscribe activity
  • Maintain compliance with applicable requirements including:
    • CAN-SPAM
    • GDPR
    • CCPA

Testing & Performance Optimization

  • Run structured A/B tests across:
    • Subject lines
    • Email copy
    • CTAs
    • Send times
    • Content variations
  • Track key performance metrics including:
    • Open rates
    • Click-through rates (CTR)
    • Conversions
    • Unsubscribe rates
    • Bounce rates
  • Identify underperforming campaigns and implement improvements
  • Use performance data to continuously improve engagement and conversion

Reporting & Revenue Attribution

  • Build weekly and monthly email performance reports
  • Track conversions and revenue attribution across ESP, CRM, and analytics platforms
  • Identify trends and opportunities within campaign data
  • Translate performance results into actionable recommendations
  • Share insights with marketing and sales teams

Required Experience & Skills

  • 2+ years of professional email marketing experience
  • Hands-on proficiency with at least one major ESP:
    • HubSpot
    • Klaviyo
    • Marketo
    • Mailchimp
    • ActiveCampaign
  • Experience building email campaigns and automated workflows
  • Strong audience segmentation and list management skills
  • Strong email copywriting skills

    • Data segmentation
  • Understanding of email marketing metrics and optimization
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal English communication
  • Availability during U.S. business hours

Nice to Have

  • Experience with deliverability tools such as:

    • Postmark
  • Experience in SaaS, e-commerce, or B2B services
  • Experience integrating ESPs with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Looker, or marketing dashboards
  • Strong understanding of revenue attribution and lifecycle marketing

What Makes You a Strong Fit

  • You understand email as a performance and revenue channel, not simply a communication tool
  • You’re comfortable building campaigns from start to finish
  • You combine strong copywriting with analytical thinking
  • You understand segmentation, automation, and customer lifecycle marketing
  • You pay close attention to deliverability and database health
  • You test continuously and use data to improve performance
  • You’re organized and comfortable managing multiple campaigns simultaneously

What a Typical Day Looks Like

You may start by reviewing campaign performance and deliverability metrics, then build or optimize an upcoming email campaign.

Throughout the day, you could write email copy, create audience segments, troubleshoot automation workflows, clean contact lists, run A/B tests, and analyze conversion performance.

You’ll also monitor automated nurture sequences and prepare reports showing how email contributes to engagement, conversions, and revenue.

In short: you own the systems, campaigns, automation, and optimization that turn email into a scalable growth channel.

Key Metrics for Success

  • Open rates of approximately 20–40%
  • Click-through rates of approximately 3–5%+
  • Continuous improvement in conversion performance
  • Bounce rates below 2%

  • Direct impact on engagement, conversions, and revenue
  • Opportunity to build sophisticated lifecycle and automation programs
  • Work with leading ESP and marketing automation platforms
  • Data-driven environment focused on testing and measurable results
  • Fully remote role with strong autonomy
  • Growth opportunities into Lifecycle Marketing, CRM Marketing, Marketing Automation, or Growth Marketing
