Application Tester

Location: Remote, Hartford, CT

Duration: 12 months

Responsibilities include:

• System testing, User Acceptance Testing, and requirements validation.
• Understanding all areas of the system and providing institutional knowledge of its design and operation.
• Creating test use cases, conducting tests, and creating test results reports.
• Providing documented processes to the testing team.
• Supporting the resolution of defects found during testing.
• Working on testing activities for new releases.
• Developing presentations for stakeholders when requested.
• Reporting test results and documenting reported defects.
• Entering defects in the defect management tool.
• Validating Traceability Matrix to contractual requirements.
• Handling the full lifecycle of Automation framework development.
• Collaborating on the architecture and expansion of the automation framework.
• Maintaining automation test suite and integrating it to DevOps.

Required skills and experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology.
• Exposure to programming in 3rd generation languages and knowledge of software design patterns.
• 5 to 7 years of experience as a tester for IT projects.
• Experience in NIEM XML or another complex XML Standard.
• Experience with testing web services manually using Soap UI/Postman.
• Working knowledge of IBM Rational Jazz Suite is a plus.
• Ability to understand the complexity of a large integrated system and trace problems to their source.
• Experience with SOA technologies.
• Experience in scripting complex SQL queries (Microsoft SQL server).
• Proficient in MS Excel.
• Work cooperatively with other team members including Team Leader/Manager, Developers, Testers, Designers, and others.
• Proficient in core programming languages – C# or Java.
• Sound knowledge of automation reporting tools like Extent Reports.
• Proven experience in data-driven automation testing.
• Sound knowledge of GitHub.
