DESCRIPTION:
As a Director of Project Management at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will guide critical strategic initiatives that drive our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll oversee complex, cross-functional projects spanning multiple divisions, working closely with leadership to deliver impactful results. This role combines strategic vision with practical execution, requiring you to establish project governance frameworks, shape strategy into risk adjusted execution, serve as a strategic partner to our Sr Executives and business leaders, enhance operational efficiency through operating model redesign, and develop collaborative teams. You'll manage portfolios of strategic initiatives focused on business growth, operational efficiency, and digital transformation while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. The position offers the opportunity to create significant value through leadership of key programs that directly contribute to our company's continued growth and success in serving science globally.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree plus 10 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 12 years of progressive project/program management experience in complex organizations
• Preferred Fields of Study: Business, Life Sciences, or related field
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification highly desired
• Lean Six Sigma certification preferred (Green Belt minimum, Black Belt ideal)
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale transformation initiatives and change management programs in a consultative environment
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and resource management
• Excellent stakeholder management abilities and leadership communication skills
• Experience developing and supporting successful teams
• Experience working in regulated environments, preferably life sciences or healthcare
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization
• Expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
• Demonstrated ability to influence through collaboration
• Proficiency with project management software and MS Office suite
• Travel may be required by role (typically 20-30%)
• Strong risk management and decision-making capabilities
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively across different time zones and cultures
