Job description

Please note: we're a remote-first company and offer the flexibility to work remotely within the country listed in the job posting.

As Art Director at Bitrise, you are the custodian of the Bitrise brand and the design gatekeeper for all marketing output. You'll own how Bitrise looks and feels across every customer touchpoint, from paid ads and the website through to photography, video, illustration, event collateral, sales enablement and product marketing assets. You'll set and evolve the visual direction, raise the bar on craft, and be the single point of accountability for design quality across marketing; one brand, owned end-to-end rather than split across accounts, with real room to shape the brand book and visual identity rather than just execute against someone else's. In practice, briefs come in from across Content, Demand Generation, Product Marketing and the wider GTM org, and you prioritise, execute or delegate, scaling extra capacity through our external design agency and a freelance roster (illustration, motion, photography)

This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who wants to own and evolve a brand, not just contribute to it, and who wants to stay hands-on with the work.

You are Our Ideal Candidate if

  • You have 7+ years of experience in brand and marketing design, ideally in B2B SaaS or developer-focused tech.
  • You have agency experience, or have run an in-house function like one, specifically pairing with a copywriter to concept and deliver campaigns end-to-end, and directing designers, motion artists or production subcontractors to get there.
  • You have a portfolio that shows brand systems thinking, not just polish, including art-directing photography or video and briefing illustrators. You can show how visual decisions connect back to strategy.
  • You have a proven track record owning a brand end-to-end: guidelines, evolution, governance, application across channels.
  • You have deep craft across digital advertising, web, social, events and sales collateral, with hands-on experience directing photography, video and illustration.
  • You have experience briefing and holding external agencies and freelancers to a quality bar.
  • You are comfortable being the most senior designer in the room: setting direction, giving feedback, defending decisions, partnering with marketing leadership.
  • You understand Content Design and UX basics, and are comfortable partnering with Product Design to keep brand and product visually coherent.
  • You are a strong communicator who can translate vague briefs into clear visual outcomes for non-designers.
  • You are familiar with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and modern web workflows (Webflow a plus).
  • You are comfortable using AI creative tools (Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Runway or similar) to speed up production.
  • You are self-directed and outcome-oriented, and can prioritise across competing demands without constant steering.
  • You take feedback well and work collaboratively, guiding others toward best practice.

What would really knock our socks off:

  • Motion design, illustration, or video editing skills strong enough to execute some of this work yourself, not just direct it.
  • Experience designing for technical / developer audiences.
  • Experience evolving a brand identity (not just maintaining one).
  • Familiarity with mobile development, DevOps, or CI/CD.
  • Experience working closely with content and demand gen teams on integrated campaigns.

Your responsibilities

Visual & Craft Direction:
Art-direct photography and video (mood boards, shot lists, shoot/edit supervision) for campaigns, events and brand content. Own illustration and iconography style, briefing and reviewing freelance illustrators against it. Set the visual bar for layout, color, typography and motion.

Brand Ownership & Evolution:
Own the brand guidelines and their consistent application everywhere. Lead the visual identity's evolution with marketing leadership as the company grows. Define design standards, components and templates that scale across the team and external partners. Keep brand-facing and in-product visual language coherent with Product Design, without owning product UI/UX.

Marketing Design Execution:
Lead design across paid ads, landing pages, website imagery, social, email, sales enablement, event collateral and campaign assets. Partner with your paired Copywriter, Content & Comms, Demand Generation, and Product Marketing to bring their work to life visually.

Agency & Vendor Management:
Direct graphic, DTP and motion designers plus outside subcontractors (print, motion, production companies) on deliverables, holding them to the same quality bar as your own work. Partner with the Copywriter and Account Manager function on scoping and timelines; step into stakeholder conversations to set or defend creative direction, rather than owning day-to-day stakeholder management yourself.

Quality & Standards:
Set and uphold the quality bar for all design output, in-house or outsourced. Give direct, constructive feedback to designers, contractors and stakeholders. Improve how design work flows through the team (briefs, reviews, approvals).

Other Dimensions to the Role

  • Occasional contact with stakeholders across Sales, CS, Product and People; day-to-day stakeholder management sits mainly with the Creative Lead/Director and the Account Manager function.
  • Reports to the Creative Lead/Director; paired day to day with a Copywriter as your closest creative partner.
  • Global remit covering brand, web, ads, events, sales enablement, and visual/motion/illustration direction.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to learn about app development by playing a crucial role in the mobile development process for the world's most successful companies.
  • The opportunity to build a global brand from Hungary to the US and beyond.
  • The security of working in a financially stable, growing company with an ever-expanding global customer base.
  • A remote working environment with opportunities for in-person collaboration.
  • A global customer portfolio to manage.
  • A competitive stock options package.
  • Private medical care & annual gym pass.
  • A base pay in the range of monthly gross: 1,500,000-1,900,000 HUF
