Medior/Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Hungary

This is a rare opportunity to join a team that owns its infrastructure end-to-end: physical servers wired to hundreds of Gbps of Internet capacity, our own IPv4 space that we advertise ourselves, and a private cloud running across multiple locations. On top of that, we run a hybrid of Linux and macOS, a state-of-the-art scheduling system, and seamless orchestration across both our own and 3rd party clouds. We have it all.

You'll work across the entire stack — from redundant, multi-homed wholesale internet transit and data center-grade networking, to servers we source directly from manufacturers, right down to fine-tuning hardware, software, the OS, the hypervisor, and the scheduler. The Build Infrastructure team manages the Bitrise CI/CD cloud build infrastructure, providing stable and reliable build environments for thousands of app developers. We oversee one of the world's largest Mac infrastructures, complemented by an extensive Linux Cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and high performance. We adhere to DevOps and Agile methodologies and are committed to automation.

We are looking for a Medior/Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, scale, and maintain our advanced infrastructure. Your expertise will enable our users to accelerate their app development process. This role offers significant opportunities to influence and guide technical practices, as well as lead projects and project teams to drive our mission-driven objectives forward.

Salary range for these positions:

• Medior: 1,300,000 - 1,950,000 HUF
• Senior: 1,750,000 - 2,916,000 HUF

As an Infrastructure Engineer at Bitrise, you will:

• Maintain, improve, and scale our existing infrastructure (both data center and cloud services) to meet growing demands.
• Manage cross-platform (Mac-based and Linux-based) build infrastructures alongside network infrastructure.
• Streamline workflows through automation, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
• Proactively monitor infrastructure performance and identify potential issues to prevent customer impact.
• Handle incidents effectively and conduct thorough post-mortems to improve our overall reliability.
• Develop systematic procedures for troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Refine deployment practices to enhance quality and velocity.
• Work independently and take initiative.
• Lead projects that drive cross-team innovation and hit our targets.
• Work closely with various teams within the company.
• Document know-how and promote knowledge sharing across the engineering teams.
• Plan and execute work in an iterative, agile approach.
  

Key Skills and Qualifications: 

• 3+ (Medior) / 5+ (Senior) years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or in a similar engineering role.
• In-depth knowledge of L2–L7 networking and protocols (TCP/IP, BGP), plus hands-on experience designing, configuring and operating data-center-grade leaf-and-spine fabrics. Comfortable with DNS, VPNs, firewalls, IPSec tunnels, routing, cloud networking, DHCP and operational best practices for troubleshooting and change management.
• Proficient in Linux administration, including scripting (Bash, Python).
• Experienced in defining and deploying infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible.
• Proficient in setting up and leveraging Continuous Integration systems for process automation.
• Familiar with Google Cloud or other cloud service platforms.
• Competent in configuring and utilizing system monitoring tools.
• Proficient in managing source code with Git.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in an international, agile-focused team environment.
• Experienced in shaping and guiding technical practices within teams.

What Would Really Knock Our Socks Off:

• Experience with macOS administration.
• Background in infrastructure/network testing.
• Experience with data centers.
• Knowledge of complex VPN configurations.
• Experience with telemetry/monitoring and BGP/EVPN-VXLAN tuning for scale, resiliency and production change management.
• Experience with Go development.
• Familiarity with Bitrise CI/CD.
• Experience working in distributed remote teams.
