Job description

Description

The Why Behind Wellvana:

The healthcare system isn’t designed for health. We’re designed to change that. We’re Wellvana, and we help doctors deliver life-changing healthcare.

Through our elevated value-based care programs, we’re revitalizing an antiquated system that’s far too long relied on misaligned incentives that reward quantity of care not the quality of it.

Our enlightened approach—covering everything from care coordination to clinical documentation education to marketing— ties the healthy outcomes of patients directly to shared savings for primary care providers, health systems and payors.

Providers in our curated network keep their independence, reduce their administrative headaches, and spend more time with patients. Patients, in turn, get an elevated experience with coordinated care between appointments that is nothing short of life-changing.

Named 2024 "Best in Business" and 2023 "Best Place to Work" by Nashville Business Journal, we’re one of the fastest-growing healthcare companies in America because what we do works. This is the way medicine is meant to be.

Clarity on the Role:

We are looking for a Director of Business Transformation Operations to lead the execution of Wellvana’s enterprise governance model. Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Enablement, this role owns the operating cadence and infrastructure that keep enterprise-wide initiatives on track, visible, and accountable to leadership with direct ownership of governance for the Enterprise Insights & Clinical Strategy Committee and the annual Gross Savings Enterprise Initiative.

This is a governance infrastructure role, not a single-initiative PM role. The Director ensures the enterprise has the right operating rhythm, reporting standards, and systems in place so initiatives across the portfolio can be tracked consistently, risks surfaced early, and decisions made with the right people at the table.

What's Expected:

Governance Model Operations:

  • Drive the infrastructure for the Enterprise Governance cadence — steering committees, initiative reviews, and escalation paths — ensuring the right stakeholders are engaged at the right decision points.
  • Maintain and evolve decision rights, RACI structures, and governance documentation so accountability is clear across the portfolio.
  • Standardize how initiatives report status, risk, and progress so leadership receives consistent, comparable information across the enterprise.
  • Identify gaps or friction in the governance model and recommend structural improvements as the portfolio scales.

Enterprise Insights & Clinical Strategy Governance:

  • Serve as the operations lead for the Enterprise Insights & Clinical Strategy initiative pillar, tracking milestones, dependencies, and decision points.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across Analytics, Clinical Strategy, and Medical Economics to keep the initiative aligned and moving.
  • Surface risks and blockers early and drive them to resolution or escalation through the governance model.

Gross Savings Initiative Governance:

  • Own operational tracking and governance for the annual Gross Savings initiative, partnering with Medical Economics, Analytics, Clinical, and Clinical Operations on gross savings targets and medical management and accurate clinical documentation performance.
  • Maintain visibility into performance against targets, flagging variances and coordinating recovery plans with initiative owners.
  • Ensure initiative reporting integrates cleanly into the broader enterprise governance cadence and leadership reporting.

Enterprise Initiative Infrastructure:

  • Build and maintain the tools, templates, and systems (e.g., Monday.com, dashboards, reporting templates) that support portfolio-wide initiative tracking.
  • Ensure data integrity and a single source of truth across initiative tracking tools, so status reported in one system matches what’s reported to leadership.
  • Evaluate and recommend infrastructure improvements as the number and complexity of enterprise initiatives grows.

Executive Reporting:

  • Prepare and deliver leadership-ready reporting (e.g., RYG status, portfolio dashboards, pulse updates) for C-suite and ELT audiences.
  • Translate initiative-level detail into clear, decision-oriented summaries for executive stakeholders.
  • Partner with initiative owners to ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and consistent ahead of leadership reviews.

Cross-Functional Alignment:

  • Partner with People & Culture, Analytics, Medical Economics, and operational/service line leaders to keep enterprise initiatives aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Act as a connector across teams, identifying duplication, misalignment, or gaps in ownership before they become execution risks.

Requirements

What's Required:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Certifications

  • PMP or equivalent governance/program management certification preferred; Agile/Scrum certification a plus.

Years of Related Experience

  • 8-10+ years in program governance, PMO leadership, or strategy operations roles, ideally within healthcare or value-based care (ACO, MSSP, ACO REACH, or Medicare Advantage exposure strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience designing or running governance models/operating cadences for enterprise-scale initiatives.
  • Experience working with financial and clinical performance data (e.g., gross savings, medical management, quality metrics) a plus.

Skills/Competencies/Behaviors

  • Proven ability to build and operate governance structures that scale across a growing initiative portfolio.
  • Strong executive communication skills, with experience preparing C-suite-ready reporting.
  • Proficiency with project/portfolio tools (e.g., Monday.com, Jira, Smartsheet) and dashboarding.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with ambiguity and translating it into structure.
  • High ownership and ability to operate independently as an individual contributor.
