The Functional Analyst serves as the vital link between US business operations (Operations, Sales, Finance) and the global Enterprise Applications function.
This role focuses on analyzing, streamlining, and documenting end-to-end business processes—with a primary focus on Order-to-Cash (O2C)—while providing hands-on 2nd level application support to key business users. You will support and optimize our current MS Dynamics Business Central ecosystem while helping prepare business processes and data for our upcoming global transformation to SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
Process Mapping: Analyze and document end-to-end business workflows, focusing heavily on order processing, inventory allocation, invoicing, and logistics interfaces within O2C.
Demand Intake: Partner with business Product Owners and regional stakeholders to capture, evaluate, and prioritize operational pain points and business requests.
Functional Design: Translate business requirements into clear, structured functional specifications and user stories for internal technical teams and external implementation partners.
L2 Functional Support: Serve as the functional escalation point for business users experiencing application issues, batch failure errors, or workflow roadblocks in MS Dynamics Business Central.
Root-Cause Analysis: Investigate recurring system glitches, data discrepancies (e.g., stuck orders, posting errors), and operational bottlenecks, coordinating fix deployments with technical engineers.
User Guidance: Provide real-time "how-to" operational assistance to key power users across Operations, Logistics, and Finance during core US business hours.
Dynamics Business Central Stewardship: Act as the primary functional expert for MS Dynamics Business Central, supporting ongoing configuration adjustments, light maintenance, and system enhancements.
SAP S/4HANA Transformation Support: Assist in data cleanup, process standardization, and business readiness activities as the organization transitions to SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
Testing Oversight: Design and execute functional test plans, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and end-to-end validation for new system deployments or enhancements.
Training & Documentation: Develop clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user guides, and training materials; conduct training sessions for US business teams to ensure high system adoption.
Compliance & Audit: Support IT audit, GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance), and internal control requirements within business workflows
Qualifications:
Experience: 3–7+ years of experience as a Functional Analyst, Systems Analyst, or ERP Support Specialist within an Enterprise Applications function.
ERP Expertise: Hands-on functional and support experience with MS Dynamics Business Central is required. Experience with or exposure to SAP S/4HANA (Public Cloud) is a strong plus.
Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of Order-to-Cash (O2C) workflows, supply chain operations, and e-commerce/retail distribution dynamics.
Business Process Documentation: Strong proficiency in process mapping and modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Signavio, BPMN standard). Ability to translate complex workflows into clear, standardized process documentation.
Troubleshooting & Support Skills: Proven ability to diagnose application errors, trace data flow across integrated systems, and resolve functional ticket escalations under operational deadlines.
Collaborative & Service-Oriented: Willingness to balance structured process projects with day-to-day user support and issue resolution.
Problem Solver: Pragmatic approach to resolving immediate operational fires while fixing the underlying root causes for long-term stability.
Strong Communicator: Ability to explain complex system behaviors and fixes clearly to non-technical business users.
