About the Role

The Credentialing Coordinator supports the Credentialing Department by processing provider credentialing and recredentialing applications in accordance with National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) guidelines and Liberty Dental Plan policies and procedures. This role works closely with providers, external credentialing partners, and internal departments to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant credentialing activities.

Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining production and quality standards.

What You'll Do

  • Review, collect, and process initial credentialing and recredentialing applications.
  • Ensure applications are complete, accurate, and compliant with NCQA, URAC, state, federal, and company requirements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for providers, vendors, and internal departments regarding credentialing inquiries.
  • Communicate effectively with providers via phone, email, and fax regarding credentialing questions and documentation needs.
  • Coordinate with Credentialing Verification Organizations (CVOs) and CAQH as directed.
  • Maintain accurate provider information and credentialing records within credentialing databases.
  • Monitor credentialing reports, provider status updates, and expiration dates.
  • Meet established production, quality, and turnaround time expectations.
  • Research and resolve credentialing-related issues while ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a dental, healthcare, managed care, customer service, or related environment.
  • Strong data entry, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a production-focused environment.
  • Ability to research issues, identify solutions, and follow through to resolution.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Credentialing experience is strongly preferred, including:

  • Health plan credentialing
  • Dental office credentialing
  • Processing credentialing and recredentialing applications

Additional preferences include:

  • Experience with NCQA, URAC, state, and federal credentialing regulations and guidelines.
  • Previous network management experience in a dental environment.
