Job description

Bugs do not announce themselves. Someone has to go looking - and enjoy the hunt.

Job Overview

Our UK-based client is hiring a full-time, remote Quality Assurance Analyst based in South Africa. You will be the last line of defence between the team's work and their customers - testing, probing and documenting until quality is provable, not assumed. This is a long-term role on UK business hours.

About Our Client

The client is a UK business whose products and processes touch real customers every day. They have learned that speed without quality is expensive, so they are investing in a dedicated QA function - and they want an analyst who treats quality as a craft, not a checkbox.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and execute test plans across new features, releases and processes

- Identify, reproduce and document defects with clear, actionable detail

- Verify fixes and run regression checks before releases go live

- Maintain test cases, checklists and QA documentation

- Track quality metrics and report trends to the team

- Collaborate with developers and operations to prevent repeat issues

- Champion the customer's experience in every review

What You Will Be Doing Day-to-Day

Mornings begin with the release calendar: what is shipping, what needs testing, and what came back overnight. You will work through structured test plans, then go off-script with exploratory testing - because the worst bugs never follow the script.

You will write defect reports a developer can act on in minutes, retest fixes the same day, and keep the QA log clean and current. Weekly, you will step back and look at patterns: where defects cluster, what keeps recurring, and what process change would stop them at the source.

The South African professional who fits this role is methodical, curious and quietly relentless. You take pride in catching what everyone else missed, and you communicate findings without drama - just facts, evidence and a suggested fix.

If you are based in South Africa with a sharp eye, strong written English and the patience to test properly, this is a stable remote career with a UK employer that values quality enough to hire for it. Apply today.

Requirements

- 2+ years' experience in quality assurance, testing or a detail-critical operations role

- Excellent written English for clear, reproducible defect reports

- Proven reliability: stable fibre internet, backup power for load shedding, and a quiet home office

- Comfortable with tech tools: test management or ticketing systems (Jira or similar), spreadsheets, and Google Workspace or Microsoft 365

- Methodical, patient and thorough - happiest when nothing slips through

- Dependable self-manager working remotely to UK business hours
