Our UK-based client is hiring a full-time, remote Finance Manager based in South Africa. You will own day-to-day financial management: reporting, cashflow, controls and the month-end rhythm that keeps decisions honest. This is a senior, long-term role on UK business hours.

The client is an established UK business at the stage where finance must graduate from bookkeeping to management: sharper reporting, tighter controls, forward-looking cashflow. They want a finance professional who can build that discipline and explain the numbers in plain English.

Key Responsibilities

- Own month-end close: journals, reconciliations, accruals and reporting packs

- Produce management accounts with commentary leadership can act on

- Run cashflow forecasting and working capital management

- Oversee payables, receivables and payroll processes

- Strengthen financial controls, approvals and documentation

- Liaise with external accountants on VAT, compliance and year-end

- Partner with leadership on budgets, pricing and spend decisions

What You Will Be Doing Day-to-Day

Your day starts with the cash position and anything unusual in the ledgers. Through the month you will keep the close calendar on track, review the work feeding into it, and chase what is missing before it becomes a deadline problem.

At month-end you will produce the pack: accurate numbers, clear variances, and commentary that tells leadership what changed and what to do about it. Between closes you will improve one process at a time - tightening controls without slowing the business.

Requirements

- 5+ years' finance experience including management accounts responsibility

- Recognised accounting qualification or actively studying (SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA or similar)

- Excellent written and spoken English for board-level reporting

- Proven reliability: stable fibre internet, backup power for load shedding, and a private home office

- Advanced with tech tools: Xero or similar cloud accounting, Excel or Google Sheets modelling

- Rigorous on controls and deadlines, with sound commercial judgement
