Job description

First impressions are won or lost in thirty seconds - and you will be the person who wins them.

Job Overview

Our UK-based client is looking for a polished, reliable Receptionist to become the friendly voice and organised engine behind their front-of-house operations - delivered entirely remotely from South Africa. This is a full-time, long-term role for a South African professional who takes pride in being the calm, capable first point of contact for customers, suppliers and the wider team.

About Our Client

The client is a well-established UK company with a busy, people-focused operation. They believe the way a call is answered says everything about a business, which is why this hire matters to them. You will work UK business hours, plug directly into their team, and be treated as a valued member of the company from day one.

Key Responsibilities

- Answer inbound calls promptly and professionally, creating a warm first impression every time

- Manage a shared inbox, routing enquiries to the right people without delay

- Schedule appointments, meetings and diary entries with precision

- Greet virtual visitors and coordinate video call logistics for the team

- Maintain accurate records, contact lists and internal documents

- Handle courier bookings, supplier queries and general administrative requests

- Flag urgent matters early so nothing slips through the cracks

What You Will Be Doing Day-to-Day

Your morning starts by opening the phone lines and the shared inbox, clearing overnight messages and setting the team up for the day. Through the day you will answer and direct calls, book meetings, update calendars, and keep internal records tidy and current.

You will liaise with team members across departments, chase small outstanding items before they become bigger ones, and keep a clear log of every enquiry so the whole business has visibility. Afternoons often involve preparing the next day's schedules, confirming appointments, and making sure nothing is left unresolved before you log off.

This is a role for someone who enjoys structure, communicates clearly, and takes real ownership of their patch. You will never be a small cog: in a connected business, the Receptionist is the person who keeps everything moving.

If you are based in South Africa, have excellent spoken and written English, and want a stable remote career with a UK employer that values your professionalism, this is your seat at the front desk - apply today.
