Job description

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Hydrogeologist/Environmental Scientist to join our established Hydrogeology & Hydrology team in Ireland, delivering high-profile water environment projects.

Based in Dublin or Cork (hybrid) or remotely, the role will focus primarily on hydrogeology and hydrology assessments and project delivery, with additional exposure to flood risk, drainage, and wider water environment disciplines, as well as projects spanning renewables, infrastructure, power, industrial and built environment sectors.

The role includes:

  • Site works (including undertaking and the organisation of) such as site walkover surveys, supervising borehole drilling, geological logging, well installation and hydrogeological testing and groundwater/surface water level and quality monitoring programmes.
  • Hydrogeological data interpretation and preparing geological and hydrogeological Conceptual Site Models.
  • Assisting with the completion of hydrogeological assessments – such as Hydrogeological Risk Assessments and Hydrogeological Impact Appraisals – that would include analysis of monitoring data, completion of hydrogeological calculations, groundwater modelling and reporting.
  • Contributing to the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) water chapters.

About You

• Solid to substantial experience in hydrogeology and/or hydrology, ideally within a consultancy or similar commercial environment
• A degree in Geoscience, Hydrogeology, Hydrology, or a related discipline (postgraduate qualification advantageous)
• Experience delivering EIAR Water chapters or equivalent environmental reporting
• Experience in developing conceptual site models and managing field programmes
• Knowledge of water permitting/licensing processes
• Strong technical report writing and problem-solving skills
• Experience with GIS software (desirable)
• Project management and stakeholder engagement experience
• A full, clean driving licence (required for site work)
