Job description

The Systems Administrator will administer, maintain, and provide advanced support across the organisation’s IT systems, supporting approximately 150 staff across multiple locations. This role will act as the primary IT resource for the business, managing Google Workspace, Slack, remote desktop environments, user access, endpoint support, booking and practice management systems, third-party vendors, documentation, patching, backups, and Level 2/3 technical support.

  • Administer, maintain, and provide advanced support for core IT systems, including Google Workspace, Slack, remote desktop environments, and business-critical applications.
  • Deliver Level 2 and Level 3 technical support by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, network, application, and user access issues.
  • Support approximately 150 staff across multiple locations, ensuring IT support requests are prioritised and resolved in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage the full user lifecycle, including account provisioning, permissions management, onboarding, offboarding, and access security.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot business applications, including booking systems, practice management systems, and other operational platforms.
  • Provide end-user guidance, training, and support to help staff use systems, applications, and remote access tools effectively.
  • Liaise with third-party software vendors, service providers, and support partners to resolve technical issues, coordinate system updates, and minimise disruption to business operations.
  • Monitor system performance, security, and reliability through proactive support, patch management, backups, documentation, and process improvement.
  • Act as the main point of contact for day-to-day IT support, managing competing support requests and identifying recurring issues.
  • Implement long-term solutions to improve system stability, user experience, access control, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate IT documentation, user records, system notes, vendor information, access records, and support procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement across IT processes, system administration, documentation, security, and user support.
  • Other position-level duties as they arise.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting cloud-based business applications and coordinating with third-party software vendors to resolve technical issues.
  • Experience managing user onboarding, offboarding, account provisioning, permissions, and access security.
  • Strong understanding of endpoint support, remote desktop environments, system maintenance, patch management, backups, IT documentation, and support procedures.
  • Ability to support non-technical users clearly and professionally, including explaining technical concepts in simple language.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage support requests, vendor communication, system updates, and internal stakeholder expectations.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a fully remote, standalone IT role.
  • Proactive, responsive, and solution-focused, with a strong commitment to improving system reliability and user experience.
