Permanent Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Lead a High-Performing Transport Operation

Take the lead in a fast-paced transport operation and help keep regional Queensland moving.

Team Global Express is seeking an experienced PM Operations Supervisor to join our Emerald team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating freight operations, supervising drivers, and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of freight while delivering exceptional customer service.

About the Role

This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity working:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00 PM – 5:00 AM
  • Friday: 6:00 PM – 3:00 AM

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll oversee the afternoon and night operations, ensuring freight is dispatched safely, customer commitments are achieved, and drivers and fleet are utilised efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily transport operations to maximise the efficient use of drivers, vehicles and equipment.
  • Plan and allocate freight loads to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
  • Organise fleet resources to meet customer requirements and operational demands.
  • Ensure all vehicles comply with customer, operational and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements.
  • Supervise, coach and support drivers while promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Monitor driver compliance with relevant State and Federal transport legislation.
  • Prepare manifests, loading documentation and compliance paperwork.
  • Investigate operational incidents and complete incident reporting as required.
  • Prepare and analyse contractor run sheets and delivery performance.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance for company vehicles and equipment.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Produce operational reports and communicate effectively with key stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

  • Previous experience in a transport, logistics or operations supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop operational teams.
  • Excellent planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of transport operations, fleet scheduling and freight movements.
  • Understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR), Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and relevant transport legislation is highly regarded.
  • Strong geographical knowledge to effectively allocate work and optimise fleet utilisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and transport management systems.
  • A transport or logistics background is highly desirable but not essential.
