About Us
GAC Enterprises LLC is one of the fastest-growing utility infrastructure contractors in the United States, delivering fiber optic construction and outside plant services across multiple states. As we scale, we're transforming from an entrepreneurial organization into a professionally managed enterprise built on standardized processes, technology, data, and operational excellence. Technology is a critical part of that transformation.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced IT Systems Administrator to own and manage GAC's entire internal technology environment. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you'll be our primary IT administrator — keeping systems secure, reliable, standardized, and scalable while supporting office employees, field crews, and executive leadership across multiple offices and job sites.
This is not a script-following, tier-1 help desk seat. You'll resolve an end user's issue in minutes and administer the systems behind it — configuring tenant-level policies, securing the environment, and coordinating vendors without oversight. If you like building systems, taking full ownership, and improving how a business runs through technology, this role will fit you.
What You'll Do
- Provide Tier II and Tier III support for all GAC employees, including priority support for executive leadership, and maintain a documented ticketing process and service standards
- Administer the Microsoft 365 environment — Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Intune, Defender, Purview, licensing, Conditional Access, and MFA
- Own user provisioning and deprovisioning, group management, identity management, and compliance administration
- Manage the full lifecycle of company technology assets: deployment, imaging, software distribution, encryption, asset tagging, warranty tracking, remote support, remote lock and wipe, and endpoint compliance monitoring through Microsoft Intune or an equivalent MDM
- Administer network infrastructure across all company locations — firewalls, VPN connectivity, wireless, DNS, DHCP, site-to-site links, firmware updates, and performance monitoring
- Protect the environment through endpoint protection, Defender administration, BitLocker, patch management, vulnerability remediation, phishing and incident response, backup verification, and disaster recovery readiness
- Administer business application platforms including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace (during migration), ADP, Fleetio, Fieldwire, Power BI, Asana, ClickUp, and Adobe Acrobat
- Maintain complete accountability for IT assets and software licenses at greater than 99% inventory accuracy
- Coordinate managed service providers, internet providers, and hardware, software, and security vendors — managing performance, contracts, escalations, and project delivery
- Lead technology projects including the Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 migration, new office deployments, conference room and AI meeting-room systems, endpoint refreshes, and security improvements
- Develop and maintain IT standards, SOPs, network diagrams, disaster recovery plans, system documentation, IT policies, and knowledge base articles
- Support technology purchasing and lifecycle planning, including hardware and software recommendations, vendor evaluations, license renewals, and budget input
- Identify and build automation using PowerShell, Power Automate, and AI productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot to reduce manual work
Working Conditions
Remote role, with nearshore Latin America preferred. You must maintain live support coverage during U.S. Central Time business hours, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT, as a standing schedule. Occasional after-hours work is required for migrations, cutovers, and incident response. Hands-on hardware needs at GAC offices and yards are handled through coordination with local support resources.
