Senior Software Engineer (Platform Automation) – Infrastructure & Policy Orchestration

Job Summary:

Seeking for a Senior Software Engineer (Platform Automation) – Infrastructure & Policy Orchestration to design and build platform services that help developers manage infrastructure efficiently through APIs and automation. You'll focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, developing backend services, and collaborating with various teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.

Core Work Activities:

• Design and operate internal infrastructure APIs for engineering teams.
• Develop API layers and platform services for secure infrastructure access.
• Build services in Go or Python for infrastructure orchestration with Terraform.
• Define API contracts and ensure backward compatibility.
• Implement production engineering practices including CI/CD and monitoring.
• Educate users on platform services and infrastructure best practices.
• Create documentation for service usage in solution architectures.
• Evaluate technology products and recommend improvements.
• Develop automated testing frameworks for Terraform code.
• Maintain Open Policy Agent (OPA) policies for security and compliance.
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform services.
• Collaborate with various teams to enforce policy guardrails.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship.

• Analyze information to solve problems effectively.
• Review vendor proposals and select appropriate services.

Profile:

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7 years of experience with backend services and APIs in production.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred).

Preferred:

• Experience designing APIs/services in Go or Python.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with reliable services and debugging distributed systems.
• Strong testing discipline and CI/CD automation skills.
• Knowledge of infrastructure concepts and cloud fundamentals.
• Experience with workflow orchestration and distributed systems.
• Experience with observability, on-call practices, and incident response.
• Proficiency in Terraform and policy as code (Open Policy Agent/OPA).
• Experience with CI/CD platforms and Kubernetes ecosystems.
• Contributions to open-source software projects.
