This is a role within CGI's Engineering group. A successful incumbent is expected to (i) Design, develop, and maintain front-end and middleware solutions for assigned areas of Chamberlain Group’s myQ web platform, delivering scalable, well-structured features that meet product requirements and engineering standards., and (ii) Perform technical assessment, scoping, and design of codebase changes for new business requirements, product enhancements, and platform improvements, collaborating with Staff Engineers and architects on solution design.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain front-end and middleware solutions for assigned areas of Chamberlain Group’s myQ web platform, delivering scalable, well-structured features that meet product requirements and engineering standards.
  • Perform technical assessment, scoping, and design of codebase changes for new business requirements, product enhancements, and platform improvements, collaborating with Staff Engineers and architects on solution design.
  • Develop domain-specific expertise in key myQ platform features, frameworks, and components, serving as a knowledgeable engineering resource within assigned scope.
  • Partner with Product Ownership, DevOps, Infrastructure, Database, and Middleware teams to deliver cross-functional platform features and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with offshore development teams on feature implementation and technical debt burn-down within assigned platform areas.
  • Participate in community of practice sessions, design reviews, and pull request forums, upholding engineering standards and contributing to technical direction.
  • Maintain requirements traceability from definition to implementation, collaborating with UI and UX teams to ensure front-end development aligns with product and user experience intent.
  • Apply coding standards and front-end engineering best practices to ensure a high-quality, reusable, and maintainable codebase.
  • Support less experienced engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
  • Comply with security requirements established by the Information Security team, including ISO 27001 policies and ISMS documentation.
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience developing web applications, with a focus on delivering front-end platform features or products
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, designing and consuming RESTful services and APIs, and managing source control using Git or similar systems
  • Proficiency in modern web technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and component-based frameworks such as Angular

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of UI design patterns such as MVC and MVVM, with a solid understanding of web application architecture and client-side performance considerations Ability to independently deliver features of moderate to high complexity and clearly communicate technical trade-offs and recommendations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify weaknesses in existing software and recommend improvements
  • Ability to work effectively with Product Owners and Scrum Masters on backlog refinement and issue management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and quality organizations

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Formal web development training, certifications, or relevant bootcamp experience
  • Experience coordinating with offshore or distributed development teams; experience improving development processes and engineering best practices
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated quality practices

$85,500.00 - $162,975.00
