127 Public Square, Cleveland Ohio

Location: Cleveland, OH or Buffalo NY; Cleveland OH, highly preferred.

  • Hybrid Requirement (if within specific cities): Selected candidate resides in Key Bank footprint are expected to work on-site 3 days per week at the nearest KeyBank office (non-branch location).

  • Remote Option: If the selected candidate lives outside of KeyBank’s geographic footprint, the position will be considered fully remote.

Job Summary
KeyBank is seeking a highly analytical and results‑driven Senior Associate to join our Commercial Analytics team. This role partners closely with Commercial Banking leadership to deliver actionable ‘executive‑ready’ insights that improve business performance and strengthen a data‑driven culture.

Success in this role depends on strong business judgment, relationship building, critical thinking, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders. This position is well suited for a curious, resourceful professional who enjoys solving complex problems and driving measurable impact through analytics.

Essential Functions

  • Portfolio Insights: Own product‑level, driver‑based forecasting tools; monitor actual vs. expected and benchmark performance; proactively identify decision‑strategy gaps; partner cross‑functionally to enhance strategy; maintain awareness of product strategy, competitors, and industry trends

  • Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Apply technical skills and business acumen to complex problems; assess downstream impacts across lines of business; independently manage multiple priorities with a strong, data‑driven mindset

  • Cross Functional Partner & Translator: Build strong relationships and lead discussions across business, technology, and risk; act as a trusted advisor sought out for insight, influence, and problem resolution

  • Communication: Produce clear, concise, and persuasive written and verbal communication; tailor messaging by audience; proactively share insights; develop and deliver effective presentations; navigate conflict constructively

  • Leadership: Serve as an emerging team leader and role model; coach and mentor junior staff; provide direction and work effectively within a matrixed organization
     

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, data science, statistics, finance, accounting, MIS, engineering, or related field with equivalent industry experience

Work Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Analytics, Consulting, Financial Services, Product, Strategy

Skills

  • Advanced Proficiency: Coding (SQL, BigQuery, Python, Data Visualization (Tableau, Power BI), Excel & PowerPoint- Python preferred, SQL or similar required

  • Familiarity with the Financial Services industry, and key drivers of financial results for commercial banking products such as Deposits, Treasury Management, Purchase Card, AP Automation, Embedded Banking or similar industry experience (including other regulated industries)

  • Results Focus & Project Ownership: self-starter with applied experience in owning analytical projects, end to end. With ability to work independently on complex matters, consistently deliver on priorities, hold self and others accountable, and escalate challenges as needed

  • Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: uses structured thinking and business acumen to solve complex problems; enables data driven strategies aligned with business needs; anticipates risks, integrates perspectives, and validates solutions

  • Partnering & Influence: builds strong relationships and consults with cross functional partners to resolve issues and influence outcomes

  • Communication: delivers clear, persuasive messaging tailored to stakeholders; proactively shares information and navigates challenging conversations

  • Leadership: reviews work, mentors junior analysts, and contributes to a collaborative team environment

Physical Demands

  • General office environment: Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face-to-face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs

Travel/Driving Requirements

  • May need to travel to corporate office or for industry conferences

As a result, this role may be mobile or home based, which means you may work either at a home office or in a Key facility to perform your job duties.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
