Job Description:

PROJECT/TASK SR MANAGER

Assist Project Manager with complex program that drives impactful mission outcomes for our customer as a Deputy Project/Task Sr Manager . Here, you’ll see the bigger picture on mission initiatives and where your program management career can go at GDIT.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Deputy Project/Task Sr Manager, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create weekly status reports which include a detailed report containing technical details, a summarized version (for the client’s Chief Information Officer), a statused project schedule, and a project schedule summary.
  • Create monthly status reports, which include JIRA reports, spend plan, Earned Value Management Report, and Quality Report.
  • Assist with creating, maintaining, and statusing several schedules.
  • Create Monthly Performance Reports.
  • Create monthly PowerPoint presentations to be presented to client’s COR, Chief Information Officer, and other Government stakeholders; and present if PM is not available.
  • Assist with creating quarterly Integrated Baseline Review slide deck.
  • Create Sprint deliverables and ensure they are delivered on time and are checked into source control as necessary.  Push appropriate resources to create/update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed. Write SOPs as necessary.
  • Assist with creating and peer reviewing multiple deliverables, such that they meet quality standards of the contract.
  • Create Statements of Work for subcontractors and create job requisitions as needed.
  • Handle on-boarding and off-boarding activities including ensuring forms for laptops have been properly signed and sent to GDIT property group.
  • Learn SETRIS and handle SETRIS issues for subcontractors.  Contact submitters and approvers to get timesheets transmitted on time.
  • Be backup for PM for timesheet approvals.
  • Ensure, prior to an upgrade or patch to an environment, that an email has been sent to take backups, an email has been sent to users (if Production environment), and email was sent to turn off monitoring scripts for the environment. 
  • Track what environment has what version installed (Tomcat, Apache HTTPD, Java, Oracle, Sprint, etc.).
  • Create/update Confluence pages as needed. 
  • Capture daily status in Confluence Daily Scrum page.
  • Perform some Scrum Master duties such as creating / statusing / closing / updating JIRA tickets.
  • Proactively follow up on tasks to be completed.
  • Participate in planning and budgeting exercises.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with client, customer staff, and end users.
  • Assist the team and client with decisions based on long-term and short-term aspects of the engagement.
  • Monitor progress to assure deadlines /standards are met.
  • Contribute to modernization and migration to Azure cloud activities.

Additionally, the Deputy IT Project Manager will be exposed to and become familiar with other client engagements and will support the Project Manager with business development activities to expand and provide technology solutions.  Responsibility will be to understand how GDIT provides these services to our expanding Department of Commerce clients, and how GDIT can enhance their service delivery to these clients.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your program management expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Project/Task Sr Manager must have:
● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
● Experience: 10 years of project management experience with at least 5 years of intensive and progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency levels related to the position.

  • Excellent writing, speaking and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated client-facing roles
  • Proven track record of leading complex systems implementation or integration efforts
  • Strong experience working for a senior leadership client, participating in briefings, presentations, and advisory sessions
  • Experience working with business process management (BPM) products and Azure cloud SaaS-based implementations
  • Some knowledge of radio transmitters and receivers, radar, antennas and satellites (radio spectrum)
  • Experience managing relationships and dependencies with external teams
  • Experience working in an Agile framework
  • Experience with JIRA and JIRA reports
  • Experience with Confluence
  • Experience writing technical documentation
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Must have a Secret Clearance to start

The likely salary range for this position is $123,250 - $166,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
