We are looking for an Optimization ML Specialist to join our client's team focused on modeling and optimizing complex industrial systems.

As the team dives deeper into modeling industrial systems, we need someone who can help create statistical models of individual machine behaviors based on sensor data and experimentation. The eventual goal is to link these models together to allow optimization of whole industrial systems.

You will develop stochastic modeling and optimization approaches for real-world industrial systems, design and evaluate models, and help translate complex physical processes into mathematical or computational abstractions.

This is you

  • Possessing experience or a degree in a STEM field such as operations research, applied mathematics, or industrial process engineering with a strong interest in machine learning.

  • Strong experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Python, C/C++.

  • Experience in industrial optimization, as in industrial engineering, chemical engineering, or system engineering is desired.

  • Experience in scientific computing or building in-silico models for complex physical or industrial systems.

  • Ability to translate complex physical processes into mathematical or computational abstractions.

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Proficiency in machine learning, operations research, or high-performance computing frameworks and libraries.

  • A deep understanding of stochastic modeling or combinatorial optimization methods.

  • Familiarity with machine learning data science tools (e.g., Vertex AI, OpenAI Platform, or Anthropic Console).

  • Familiarity with Bayesian optimization and stochastic processes.

  • Understanding of simulation techniques (e.g., discrete event simulation, agent-based modeling, or Markov Chain modeling).

This is your role

  • Help develop statistical models of industrial systems based on sensor data and experimentation.

  • Propose optimization techniques — create stochastic modeling and optimization approaches for real-world industrial systems.

  • Design and evaluate the developed models.

  • Link individual machine models together to allow optimization of whole industrial systems.

  • Collaborate with the team to translate complex physical processes into mathematical or computational models.

  • Contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
