A Y Combinator–backed consumer wearable startup is hiring a Founding UI/UX & Graphic Designer to own its entire visual presence. This is a rare, foundational opportunity: you will define how users experience a premium AI-powered wearable brand across every digital touchpoint — from the iOS app to the website, social channels, and beyond.
The company is building a wearable device that reads and analyzes real-time emotional states, helping users develop their emotional intelligence and consistently reach peak flow. The founding team brings deep experience from world-class consumer hardware backgrounds. Prototypes are already on users' wrists. This is a ground-floor role with real ownership and a direct path to leading the design org as the company scales.
Own end-to-end UI/UX design for the iOS app.
Lead design across the website, social channels, marketing communications, and email campaigns.
Create event invitations, launch collateral, and campaign assets that embody the brand.
Define and maintain a unified, premium consumer design language across all touchpoints.
Outstanding portfolio — this is the single most important factor. It must demonstrate exceptional taste and strong graphic design fundamentals.
Experience delivering polished, user-facing design at a consumer company, or equivalent training in a rigorous design environment (e.g. top design school graduate).
Exceptional aesthetic sensibility suited to a premium consumer hardware brand.
Ability to independently own a broad consumer design stack spanning mobile UI/UX, web, and marketing collateral.
Proficiency with Figma and standard brand/graphic design tooling.
Comfortable working on-site in London (or San Francisco).
Nice to have: Background at a consumer company known for tasteful design; education from a top design school (e.g. RCA, RISD, or equivalent).
Base salary: ~$150,000 USD (or ~£75,000 GBP for London-based candidates)
Equity: Up to 1–2% — meaningful founding-stage ownership
Seed-stage company backed by a top-tier accelerator, with a funding round closing imminently
Primary office: London, UK (San Francisco office also available)
On-site or remote considered depending on candidate location
Visa sponsorship: H-1B transfers only — new visa sponsorship is not available
