Senior Testing Consultant - Salem, OR

Seeking an experienced Senior Testing Consultant to provide expertise in testing design, execution, defect evaluation, and process improvement. The consultant will support agile and traditional delivery teams, ensuring systems meet requirements and deliver expected business value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze project requirements and acceptance criteria for clarity and testability.
• Maintain and update the requirements traceability matrix (RTM).
• Create and maintain comprehensive test cases, scenarios, and suites.
• Develop test plans outlining scope, approach, schedule, resources, and risks.
• Execute manual user acceptance testing (UAT) cases and log test results.
• Conduct regression testing to validate system stability and verify fixes.
• Log defects with clear reproduction steps and retest to confirm resolution.
• Conduct integration testing across systems and interfaces.
• Perform load, performance, security, integration, and accessibility testing activities.
• Provide UAT guidance and support to business SMEs/testers.
• Develop and maintain testing best practices, training materials, and documentation.
• Provide daily/weekly test metrics, summaries, and status reports to stakeholders.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and contribute to release readiness assessments.
• Continuously identify opportunities for improving testing processes and tools.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong understanding of UAT processes, SDLC, and agile methodologies.
• Experience designing and executing complex test scenarios.
• Proficient in test management and defect tracking tools (Azure DevOps, Jira).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
• Understanding of accessibility standards, security testing fundamentals, and performance considerations.
• Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience leading QA/UAT activities for complex, cross-functional projects.
• Experience in a government or regulated environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with test automation concepts (Selenium, Playwright, Robot Framework).
