Description:

CTG is seeking to fill a Sr. Software Engineer – Platform Architecture position for our client.

 

If you're an experienced software architect who enjoys modernizing enterprise platforms, driving cloud strategy, and mentoring engineering teams, we'd like to hear from you. This role offers the opportunity to shape the architecture of a large-scale software ecosystem spanning desktop applications, cloud services, enterprise integrations, and modern web technologies while leading strategic modernization initiatives.

 

Location: Remote

Duration: 6 months

 

Duties:

  • Lead architecture and technical strategy for enterprise desktop, cloud, middleware, and web-based platforms.
  • Define scalable, secure, and maintainable application architectures and integration patterns.
  • Drive modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy ASP.NET MVC and AngularJS applications to React-based solutions.
  • Design cloud-native services, REST APIs, and hybrid cloud architectures across Azure and AWS environments.
  • Establish architecture governance, security standards, authentication strategies, encryption, and secrets management.
  • Lead CI/CD architecture, deployment automation, and DevOps best practices across multiple technology stacks.
  • Oversee SQL Server architecture, enterprise data models, and application performance optimization.
  • Design enterprise integrations with middleware, laboratory systems, and field service platforms.
  • Produce architecture documentation, technical standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Mentor senior engineers, conduct architecture reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional leadership teams.

Skills:

  • Expert-level C++, C#, .NET Framework, ASP.NET MVC/Web API, and Windows Services.
  • React 18/19, Redux Toolkit, Vite, Node.js, and Express.
  • Azure cloud services, Azure AD, MSAL, JWT authentication, and REST API design.
  • SQL Server architecture, database design, and performance tuning.
  • Enterprise security including TLS, encryption, code signing, and secrets management.
  • CI/CD pipeline design, PowerShell automation, IIS administration, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong architecture documentation, technical leadership, and communication skills.

Experience:

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 4+ years as a Software Architect, Principal Engineer, or similar technical leadership role.
  • Proven success designing enterprise software platforms across desktop, web, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience modernizing legacy .NET applications and leading cloud migration initiatives.
  • Experience within life sciences, healthcare, medical devices, industrial IoT, or other regulated industries is highly desirable.
  • AWS architecture, HL7/FHIR integrations, Salesforce Service Management, and enterprise middleware experience are preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75.00 to $80.00 per hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
