Description

The Senior Analyst is responsible for analyzing inventory data as a key collateral asset in the Asset-Based Lending (ABL) process by determining the Net Orderly Liquidation Value (NOLV). This figure directly controls how much the lender will advance against the inventory for the assigned client project. The Senior Analyst applies data analysis and business knowledge to build inventory valuation models, conduct and apply research, and communicate the results of appraisals in narrative documents.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support for on-going and new inventory valuation projects, including data collection, due diligence, and analysis to ensure the accuracy of supplied information.
  • Handle multiple projects from start to finish, independently, and with the support of a team.
  • Conduct back-up exhibit calls with companies to ensure Gordon Brothers has not misinterpreted any information provided. 
  • Analyze key performance metrics and prepare values along with rationale for sign-off. 
  • Communicate directly with banks and company clients to understand company-provided information and any business and/or operational challenges.
  • Research the consumer products, industrial, retail and/or other market sectors, as assigned.
  • Develop a qualitative understanding of nuances that may affect asset values, and review findings with company management and clients.
  • Conduct solo job inspections and/or client meetings as needed.
  • Ensure the production of the highest quality product, while exceeding client expectations with respect to professionalism and expediency.
  • Provide final appraisal report of quantitative and qualitative findings to client.
  • Work in accordance with established methodology and utilize standard models and templates with direction.
  • Maintain Gordon Brothers’ Appraisal Application database to ensure accurate and timely contact, company, and recovery information.
  • Participate in travel, job inspections, and/or client meetings with a senior-level Appraiser.  This will include taking photographs of assets and providing notes or dictation.
  • Provide additional analysis support as requested by management.
  • Become proficient in and adhere to USPAP standards, particularly as they apply to inventory valuations.
  • Uphold Gordon Brothers’ Core Values and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the strategic plan.

 

Education, Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related area of study required.
  • At least four years’ relevant work experience, preferably in a financial, lending, audit, or consulting environment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • MS Word and advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros, and complex formulas that enable efficient data analysis.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.  
  • Understanding of inventory and other asset accounting methodologies is preferred.  
  • Demonstrated analytical, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • High degree of integrity and business acumen.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Periodic travel of up to 20% may be required.
