Description

The Project Coordinator will assist in the successful delivery of Machinery & Equipment sale projects, as well as asset appraisal and valuation reports for corporate, banking and insolvency clients primarily within New Zealand and providing support for similar projects in Australia. It is envisaged that the role will require regular travel.

The Project Coordinator will report to the Director – Senior Project Manager and Valuer NZ and will interact with appraisers, sales staff, clients, alliance partners, and others in all applicable offices.

Job Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions

  • Practical knowledge of machinery & equipment and developing an understanding of the values thereof, including but not limited to mining, transport, civil construction, and industrial processing assets.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Gordon Brothers and Ritchie Bros., coordinating activities, facilitating communication, supporting joint initiatives, and helping maximize opportunities generated through the alliance.
  • Undertake direct asset sale marketing campaigns.
  • Assist with the management of disposition and appraisal projects, including kick-off, due diligence, field visit requests, management interviews, quality control, reviews, and project delivery.
  • Aid the valuation team throughout the appraisal process, including fieldwork, asset inspections, market research, data collection, analysis, report writing, and delivery of valuation reports.
  • Undertake physical inspections of assets in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Manage site operations, asset removals and post-sale project asset delivery in accordance with project scope and local WHS and compliance requirements.
  • Understand deal agreements, requirements, and obligations.
  • Work independently on disposition and appraisal projects and typically participate in more difficult and complex assignments under guidance from senior staff.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and effectively for extended periods with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity, accountability, and quality of work.
  • Provide timely updates to the management team and clients to ensure commitments are being met.
  • Assume direct responsibility for meeting target requirements for quality, efficiency, accuracy, on-time delivery, and client service.
  • Assist in drafting client presentations, proposals, engagement letters, and valuation reports.
  • Assume responsibility for WHS risk management processes for each assigned disposition and appraisal project.
  • Identify and discuss emerging risk management issues with the Senior Manager or Director.
  • Maximize cross-selling opportunities across various Gordon Brothers business units.
  • Develop strong client relations with senior-level management and instill client confidence.
  • Support business development for new and existing client relationships.
  • Utilize the company’s CRM system.
  • Uphold Gordon Brothers’ Core Values and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the strategic plan.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have the Following


  • Practical experience with and knowledge of plant and equipment is required.
  • Experience in machinery and equipment disposition sales and appraisals is preferred.
  • Experience supporting machinery and equipment valuation projects, including fieldwork, research, analysis, and report writing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Experience with MS Word and MS PowerPoint is preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare professional valuation reports, client deliverables, and supporting documentation.
  • A high degree of integrity and business acumen is required.
  • Demonstrated analytical, presentation, and project management skills are required.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, alliance partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Use of problem-solving capabilities to look in-depth at information pertaining to a job is required.
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment handling multiple projects is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision, including managing assignments and priorities while working remotely or from a standalone office environment.
