DESCRIPTION:
As a Contracts Specialist II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll contribute to supporting our mission to enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll be part of our Legal Function team, providing expert contract review, drafting, and negotiation support for commercial agreements across our operations. Working with a collaborative, cross-functional team of legal professionals, you'll handle contract lifecycle management while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. Your analytical skills and business understanding will help protect company interests while facilitating critical business relationships. This role offers opportunities for professional development through comprehensive training resources and exposure to diverse contract types across multiple business units.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree with no prior experience required, or Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of experience in contract administration, drafting, and negotiation
• Preferred Fields of Study: Business, Law, or related field
• Professional certifications in contract management a plus
• Demonstrated expertise in reviewing and analyzing commercial agreements and legal documents
• Strong understanding of contract law principles and risk management
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with ability to influence stakeholders
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel
• Experience with contract lifecycle management systems and enterprise software (e.g., SAP, Salesforce)
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management capabilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects under deadline
• Fluent English language skills, both written and verbal
• Knowledge of government contracting and FAR compliance preferred
• Experience in life sciences, healthcare, or technology industries a plus
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and business units
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating sound judgment
• Travel may be required
