We are actively searching for a National Sales Optimization Trainer to aid in the development and implementation of sales training programs for agency and corporate sales staff and/or sales management. This person will establish objectives for, and creates, develops, and administers, in whole or in part, a training program including sales techniques and skills, product and product applications information, group referencing, and role playing. They will also provide materials and developmental support to sales regions for trainings, presentations at conferences or sales meetings as well as work closely with Medical Education, corporate sales management, product management, and/or marketing team to develop a sales strategy and then incorporates this strategy into the training programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with corporate and agency leadership to identify training needs/opportunities and to implement tactics to support business needs.  Develops systematic integration of feedback in formulating strategic plans for Sales Training.  
  • Works closely with members of the National Sales Team to ensure the appropriate creation and execution of learning and development content, programs and platforms to support the company’s marketing and business plans.
  • Salesforce initiatives:
  • Works in close collaboration with National Sales Training Manager, to identify critical sales competencies and develop short, medium and long term plans to develop teams in those areas. 
  • Responsible for identifying new and emerging learning trends, executing against short and long-term strategies, and developing platforms to support learning and development initiatives. 
  • Responsible for identifying, developing, and fostering business relationships with key outside parties that will support the business plans and growth objectives of the business. 
  • Effectively executes and facilitates results through the development of strong partnerships with counterparts with a particular emphasis on Sales, National Accounts, Product Management, and Medical Education.
  • Works with Meetings team to organize training venues, logistics, transport, accommodation as required to achieve efficient training attendance and delivery. 
  • Stays abreast of trends within Training and Development. Adapts new approaches as appropriate. Accountable for ensuring the maximization of salesforce competency and performance via statistical models tied to sales results.
  • Travel up to 40%.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Marketing, Science or related fields
  • 3 years sales experience required
  • 3 years of direct responsibility for all aspects of a learning function in some combination of sales and/or marketing and/or training and/or product management required
  • Orthopedic/medical device experience preferred.
  • Experience in Sales operations and sales effectiveness preferred
  • Direct experience working with external customers preferred

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Must be capable of influencing internal and external sales personnel and recognized as a learning expert within both groups.
  • Knowledgeable of clinical/hospital/physician environment
  • Strong project management, presentation and organizational skills. 
  • Proven experience in business planning, strategy development, and execution of solutions/programs in healthcare environments.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, organization and planning skills. 
  • Training in the area of professional selling and sales process
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) experience preferred 
  • Results oriented and client focused 
  • Resourceful and creative regarding resources 
  • Able to work collaboratively across functional boundaries 
  • Salesforce experience is a plus

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

  • PC and various and specialized software.  High efficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook. Knowledge of LMS systems a plus. Knowledge of SalesForce CRM or other CRM platforms a plus.
