The IT Desktop & Asset Management Specialist fulfills hardware and software requests for the IT Asset Management team via computer hard and software deployment. This role ensures accuracy in tracking, receiving, assigning and transferring IT equipment and materials across the Amentum environment. The Specialist collaborates with the IT Asset Management team members to complete tasks and update all active and inactive inventory in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This position is US Remote telework and US Citizenship is required.

Principal Accountabilities

(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)

  • Responsible for fulfilling requests pertaining to IT Asset Management via ticketing system.
  • Responsible for imaging endpoints for distribution throughout the company.
  • Responsible for software deployment/assistance with software installation.
  • Provision and maintain hard and soft tokens for multi-function authentication purposes.
  • Maintain accurate records of asset location, asset type, asset owner, etc. through a defined asset tracking system.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Corporate IT Operations Asset Management processes as they relate to the acquisition, receiving, and installation of new hardware assets.
  • Respond to requests from management for specific IT Asset Management and Inventory data information.
  • Demonstrate Amentum’s core values, have a can-do philosophy, and ensure problem ownership and promoting end user satisfaction.
  • Appropriately document all required information into the ServiceNow ticketing system & knowledge base.
  • Review tickets within ticketing system and assign to team members accordingly.
  • Collaborate with team members on current issues and resolutions.
  • Prioritize a variety of tasks, based on current environment needs.
  • Present the facts transparently to promote collaborative solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of server, network, and desktop hardware and software operating system and peripheral technologies preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to process.
  • Effective relationship building skills and ability to partner with stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Requires detailed knowledge of quality and cost-effective purchasing, inventory maintenance, distribution and tracking.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and planning skills.

Experience & Education

  • Typically, three (3) years of experience in an IT Asset Management, IT Procurement, IT Hardware Lifecycle Management or similar role high school diploma plus some advanced training.
  • College degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience with procurement, inventory and tracking of computer products.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Normal office environment
  • Able to lift standard computer equipment up to 50 lbs

Compensation Details:

$53k - 66k
