Little Journey

Digital Health & Health Tech

Little Journey is a digital eSupport platform designed to psychologically prepare, support and inform children and families before, during and after healthcare interactions - both those occurring as part of a clinical trial and within routine care. Our mission is to support all children to better health. We believe that, through the provision of engaging, interactive and age-appropriate content, we can improve healthcare experiences and health outcomes for all. The Little Journey smartphone app enables families to access information and support tailored to their child’s age, procedure type and hospital at a time and location convenient to them. Virtual tours using 360-degree images of the actual rooms families will visit explain what will happen and who children will meet during their hospital journey. Relaxation animations and therapeutic/distraction games further help to reduce anxiety and improve experiences. A parent information section includes articles, checklists and hospital guides – all of which can be configured by healthcare organisations via a web portal. We ensure a truly patient-focused user experience by co-creating content, using a continuous feedback loop with children, families and key stakeholders. Little Journey fundamentally believes in the power of familiarisation and desensitization through immersive play to facilitate individual coping strategy development, reducing peri-procedural anxiety and improving healthcare experiences for all.

Job description

We are at an exciting stage in our growth as a regulated digital health company, with increasing traction in the clinical trials and life sciences space with our platform Trial Flow. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping how clinical trials are translated into engaging digital experiences, helping us scale our platform and support more studies globally.

The Role

We're looking for a Clinical Implementation Specialist to be our internal expert in translating clinical trial protocols into exceptional digital participant experiences.

Working across Commercial, Delivery, Product, Engineering and Content, you'll interpret complex clinical trial protocols and translate them into practical participant journeys and platform configuration.  Acting as the bridge between customers and internal teams, you'll ensure trial requirements are understood, applied accurately and delivered with confidence.

This is a hands-on role. You'll take ownership of configuring trials within the Trial Flow platform, completing implementation tasks throughout the delivery lifecycle and helping develop simple, scalable ways of working that enable us to deliver more trials efficiently as we grow.

The role reports to the Delivery Lead and is part of the Delivery team.

This is a full-time role, either hybrid (Leeds) or fully remote in the UK. We cannot sponsor visas to work in the UK or hire outside of the UK.

Responsibilities

Protocol Interpretation & Trial Setup (60% of role)

Translate clinical trial protocols into accurate, scalable platform configurations and implementation plans.

  • Interpret complex clinical trial protocols and identify their impact on product configuration and participant journeys.
  • Configure clinical trials within the Trial Flow platform, ensuring protocol requirements are accurately reflected.
  • Take ownership of configuration activities from implementation through to go-live.
  • Support commercial opportunities by reviewing protocols, contributing to RFP responses and advising on implementation feasibility, delivery considerations and potential risks.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality internal trial documentation, including protocol summaries, implementation briefs, statements of activity and handover documentation.
  • Identify protocol-specific considerations, such as participant cohorts, dosing schedules, visit variations and operational requirements.
  • Review protocol amendments and assess their impact on participant journeys and product features.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify trial implementation and reduce unnecessary complexity while maintaining quality.

Customer Delivery & Trial Success

Partner with customers and internal teams to ensure trials are delivered confidently, accurately and successfully.

  • Partner with Delivery Managers throughout customer onboarding and implementation to ensure trial requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
  • Present protocol interpretations, participant journeys and implementation decisions clearly and confidently to customers, building trust and credibility throughout the delivery process.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clinical trial operations relating to protocol interpretation, trial setup and participant experience.
  • Review and respond to customer feedback on trial materials, resolving operational questions and escalating clinical or patient safety decisions as needed.
  • Support Customer Success by providing clinical trial expertise and operational insight throughout the customer lifecycle.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work across Product, Engineering, Content, Commercial, Clinical and Delivery to ensure clinical trial requirements are understood and delivered effectively.

  • Work closely with Product and Engineering to identify configuration challenges, protocol specific requirements and opportunities to improve the platform.
  • Partner with Content and Product to influence the development of our clinical trial content.
  • Act as a clinical trial subject matter expert during product, content and process development, ensuring new capabilities reflect real-world requirements.
  • Share knowledge across the business, helping colleagues better understand clinical trial processes, participant journeys and operational considerations.

Requirements

Required

  • Extensive experience working within clinical trials, such as Clinical Operations, Trial Management, Research Delivery, Site Operations, Study Coordination or a similar area.
  • Demonstrable track record of interpreting complex clinical trial protocols and translating them into practical operational requirements for other stakeholders
  • Excellent understanding of clinical trial operations and the needs of sponsors, sites and participants.
  • Experience working directly with customers and stakeholders to explain complex information and build trusted relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex clinical information into clear, practical documentation and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Experience working with digital health products, participant engagement platforms or clinical technology.
  • Experience configuring or implementing software platforms for clinical trials.
  • Experience supporting protocol amendments, RFPs or bid processes.
  • Experience working in an agile delivery environment.
  • A relevant clinical qualification.
  • Experience in a HealthTech, SaaS or start-up environment.
  • Experience working in paediatric clinical trials.
