Job description

Job Description:

The Lead Functional Architect at Merkle is a senior-level consulting and solution design role responsible for architecting scalable Adobe Workfront solutions that align with business objectives. You will partner with clients and stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical, scalable designs across Workfront Core, Planning, Fusion, workflows, automations, and integrations.

This role is best suited for a candidate who has hands-on experience architecting, implementing, and optimizing enterprise Workfront environments. Success in this role requires strong Workfront architecture expertise, an understanding of Fusion capabilities and constraints, and the ability to lead client-facing discovery, solution design, and implementation efforts.

This role is ideal for a Workfront Architect, Senior Workfront Consultant, Enterprise Workfront Administrator, or Solution Architect with demonstrated experience designing and implementing large-scale Workfront environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Requires deep expertise in Adobe Workfront Core and Workfront Planning, including hands-on experience architecting enterprise Workfront solutions. Must possess working knowledge of Adobe Workfront Fusion and be able to design, evaluate, and guide automation and integration strategies across complex business environments. While this role is not a dedicated Fusion developer position, candidates must understand Fusion capabilities, limitations, and architectural considerations well enough to recommend scalable, technically feasible solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design optimal solutions through consulting, solution design, presenting, developing, teamwork, QA, delivery, and training.
  • Design, architect, and implement end-to-end scalable Workfront solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Lead the development of workflows, approval paths, governance models, intake processes, reporting structures, automations, and integrations to streamline project management and business operations.
  • Assess existing Workfront environments and develop architecture recommendations that improve scalability, governance, workflow efficiency, reporting, automation, and overall business process effectiveness.
  • Define and architect integrations and automations using Adobe Workfront Fusion and other connected business systems.
  • Lead and document technical discussions while producing comprehensive documentation, architecture diagrams, workflows, and solution designs that support implementation and long-term scalability.
  • Create and present architecture diagrams, solution designs, and implementation recommendations to clients and stakeholders, ensuring proposed solutions are aligned with both business objectives and Workfront platform capabilities.
  • Risk Management: Identify and report project risks, technical dependencies, and implementation challenges to the Enterprise Architect Director and PMs promptly.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, consultants, and clients to ensure system design and integrations align with business goals.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior consultants and specialists.
  • Review and assess current workflows and Workfront environments to identify opportunities for optimization and scalability.
  • Oversee the integration of Workfront with other business systems and enterprise tools.
  • Conduct discovery workshops, solution presentations, and training sessions to ensure client teams are equipped to use Workfront effectively.
  • Support implementation teams by validating that proposed solutions are technically feasible and aligned with Workfront platform capabilities.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience architecting, designing, configuring, and implementing Adobe Workfront solutions within enterprise environments.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Adobe Workfront Fusion, integrations, and automation design, including the ability to determine what is technically achievable and scalable within the platform.
  • Deep expertise in Adobe Workfront Core and Workfront Planning.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise Workfront implementations, platform optimizations, or large-scale enhancement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise workflows, business analysis, and system integration.
  • Proven ability to design and implement scalable, optimized solutions that align with client business objectives.
  • Experience designing scalable workflows, governance models, approval processes, reporting solutions, and business process automation.
  • Strong understanding of integrations, APIs, and connected business systems.
  • Proven ability to engage directly with clients, conduct discovery sessions, facilitate workshops, and present architecture recommendations.
  • Experience creating architecture diagrams, workflow documentation, technical designs, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Strong communication, leadership, consulting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to evaluate technical feasibility and translate business requirements into deliverable solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a Workfront Architect, Solution Architect, Lead Consultant, Enterprise Administrator, or similar role supporting Adobe Workfront environments.
  • Experience within consulting firms, digital agencies, Adobe partners, or large enterprise organizations.
  • Experience supporting global or enterprise-scale Workfront environments.
  • Experience leading client engagements and managing complex implementation projects.
  • Experience mentoring consultants, administrators, developers, or implementation teams.
