This is a specialist role within the Labor and Employee Relations function supporting North America (United States and Canada). The role is responsible for leading highly complex and sensitive investigations (including Speak Up concerns), advising leaders and HR Business Partners on employee relations and positive associate relations, and identifying themes and trends to recommend actions that reduce risk, protect brand identity, and improve the associate experience. The incumbent must have a strong background in employee relations and be able to work independently with guidance only in a range of complex situations.

This is a pivotal role in maintaining a positive employee and labor relations environment for all our associates. In addition, the LER Partner will provide training, coaching, and counseling to HR Business Partners and serve as a strategic thought partner to assigned business units. 

This role will be remote in North America, with travel up to 15%.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

Employee Investigations

  • Lead highly complex and sensitive investigations into employee relations matters, including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and policy violations.
  • Identify innovative solutions to business challenges by gathering and analyzing evidence, interview witnesses, and preparing detailed investigation reports and report outs.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to management on appropriate resolution strategies and corrective actions.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a specialist on employment laws and regulations, providing practical, solutions-oriented guidance to leaders and HR Business Partners.
  • Partner with HRBPs and business leaders to promote positive associate relations through early intervention, conflict resolution support, and consistent application of policy and practice.
  • Act as a steward of Veralto’s culture by promoting holistic, fair, and consistent solutions; anticipating emerging risks; and helping drive a consistent, One Veralto, associate experience.

Strategic Partnership:

  • Collaborate with business leaders and HR partners to understand the unique challenges and opportunities within assigned business units, acting as a trusted advisor and thought partner, offering insights and recommendations to enhance employee engagement, productivity, organizational design, and retention.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues in labor and employee relations, and proactively share knowledge and expertise with internal stakeholders.
  • Lead functional teams and projects as required

Training Design and Delivery

  • Design best-in-class comprehensive training programs on topics such as conflict resolution, positive associate training, and workplace conduct, evaluating their effectiveness through feedback mechanisms and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Customize training materials to meet the specific needs of different business units and employee groups.

The essential requirements of the role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in labor relations, employee relations, or closely related HR roles.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting complex workplace investigations, handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience delivering or supporting training programs.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state/provincial, and local employment laws and regulations across the United States.
  • Authorization to work in the United States or Canada.

It would be nice if you also possess:

  • Knowledge of Canadian Employment Law
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting union or collective bargaining environments.
  • Professional certification such as SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
  • Experience supporting public company, global, multi-site, or multi-business-unit environments.

CANADA ONLY:

The compensation range for this role is $110.000 - $130.000 CAD per year. This job is also eligible for bonus pay.

US ONLY: 

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $130,000 - $140,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
