At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we are seeking a Technical Sales Specialist (m/f/d) – Downstream Bioproduction to join our Bioproduction Sales organization on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This field-based role supports customer engagement and territory coverage across Germany, the Netherlands, and selected V4 countries.

In this role, you will apply your industry knowledge and technical expertise in downstream bioproduction workflows to support customer discussions, territory execution, and portfolio positioning across bioprocess chromatography, buffer outsourcing, production chemicals, and related services. You will work closely with Bioproduction Account Managers, technical specialists, and cross-functional teams to support customer success, identify customer requirements, and position Thermo Fisher Scientific's downstream workflow solutions.

Your work will help customers advance purification workflows and support biopharmaceutical production across a range of modalities, including monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, vaccines, and cell and gene therapy applications.

A Day in the Life:

  • Support field sales activities across the downstream bioproduction workflow portfolio, including bioprocess chromatography, buffer outsourcing, production chemical supply, and related services.
  • Partner with Bioproduction Account Managers and commercial teams to support account coverage across Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, and other assigned V4 countries.
  • Apply strong technical and industry knowledge to understand customer workflows, identify needs, and support appropriate solution positioning.
  • Engage with downstream process development, MSAT, manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain stakeholders to support technical and commercial discussions.
  • Contribute to territory and account planning by providing customer insights, market intelligence, competitive information, and workflow-specific input.
  • Support customer evaluations through technical discussions, sample coordination, presentations, process walk-throughs, and workflow optimization conversations.
  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and activity information in CRM systems, including Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with internal technical, commercial, product management, and customer support teams to ensure effective follow-up and an outstanding customer experience.
  • Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific professionally during customer meetings, field visits, trade shows, and relevant industry events.
  • Support business objectives by strengthening customer engagement and Thermo Fisher Scientific’s presence across assigned biopharma and biotech accounts.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Master's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Equivalent experience may also be considered.

Experience

  • Experience in bioproduction, bioprocessing, downstream processing, chromatography, purification workflows, or related life sciences environments.
  • Understanding of biopharmaceutical workflows, particularly downstream processing and purification across relevant biopharma modalities.
  • Customer-facing or field sales experience within a technical or scientific environment is preferred.
  • Experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, and Microsoft Office applications.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of chromatography principles, bioprocess resins, buffers, production chemicals, and quality requirements within biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing.
  • Ability to engage effectively with technical and commercial stakeholders, including process development, MSAT, manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and professionally.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a broad geographic territory.
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrixed, cross-functional organization.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
  • Business-fluent English is required.
  • German and Dutch language skills are a strong advantage.
  • Candidates should include their current notice period or earliest availability in their application.
