Water & Wastewater Treatment

Water is wonderful. Without it we’d be lost. With it, everything’s possible. For every toothbrush, for every loo flushed. For the hot showers, the cool drinks, the cups of tea. (Because honestly? There’s nothing that can’t be sorted over a nice cup of tea.) But it’s not just at the heart of our homes. It’s at the heart of everything; our schools, our businesses, our hospitals. Saving lives, helping communities thrive. It’s essential, and we simply cannot live without it.We’re Severn Trent, a diverse and amazing group of people who want to keep it that way. We bring you clean water and we take it away safely too. But it’s not just what we do. It’s how we do it: not just talking, but going over and above. Stepping up and rolling our sleeves up. And it’s why we do it: because we care. Not only about our water but our little corner of the country and the community we serve. We care for our amazing colleagues who without them none of this would be possible. We care about making sure they reflect the communities we work in too. At Severn Trent we do more, because we care.

LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT

At Hafren Dyfrdwy, we’re passionate about delivering clean, safe water and caring for the environment across Wales. We’re more than a water company – we’re a team committed to sustainability, innovation, and supporting the communities we serve. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real impact and be part of a purpose-driven organisation, we’d love to hear from you.

LET’S TELL YOU MORE

Working within our reactive Customer Network Operations Department you get the chance to join as a County Distribution Service Technician, where you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of Hafren Dyfrdwy’s Underground Network Infrastructure.

You will be involved in a number of daily tasks set to aid the inspection, improvement and repair of our assets, such as routine maintenance on key equipment, mains cleansing & flushing, disinfection of mains, tracing mains & apparatus and identifying contamination risks.

Possessing great communication skills is essential as you’ll be responding to and resolving any issues raised by a customer or member of the public and first point of contact, furthermore, you’ll also be communicating with different departments within the business and working with our contract partners.

You'll be committed to continuous improvement, keen to embrace new ways of working, and able to maintain high standards of compliance with health and safety, environmental, hygiene, and NRSWA requirements. A full UK driving licence is essential, along with a willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and participate in a rolling 24/7 seven-week shift pattern.
