Job description

Overview:

MicroTech is seeking an IT Technician to support the day-to-day operation, administration, and maintenance of our enterprise information technology environment. This is more than a traditional help desk role—it is an opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, delivering exceptional customer support, and contributing to the stability, security, and growth of our IT infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will provide end-user support while assisting with the administration of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Government Community Cloud (GCC), Active Directory, and endpoint management technologies. This individual will play an important role in maintaining secure, reliable, and efficient IT services by supporting user accounts, cloud services, devices, and enterprise systems.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

End User Support

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, Microsoft 365, networking, and account-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents involving Windows workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, business applications, and network connectivity.
  • Respond to support requests in a timely manner while documenting issues, resolutions, and customer interactions.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when appropriate.

Microsoft 365 & Identity Administration

  • Create, modify, disable, and maintain user accounts, groups, permissions, and access assignments within Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory.
  • Assist with administration of Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related administrative portals.
  • Support a hybrid identity environment consisting of on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID synchronization.
  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding activities, including account provisioning, equipment deployment, and access management.

Endpoint & Systems Administration

  • Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Support Microsoft Intune or equivalent endpoint management platforms for device enrollment, software deployment, compliance, and policy management.
  • Install, update, and maintain approved operating systems and business applications.
  • Perform routine system administration tasks under the direction of senior IT personnel.

Infrastructure Support

  • Monitor system health, service availability, security alerts, and infrastructure performance.
  • Assist with Active Directory administration, Group Policy management, and Windows Server support.
  • Participate in cloud migrations, software deployments, infrastructure upgrades, and technology improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with troubleshooting networking issues related to DNS, DHCP, VPN connectivity, and endpoint communications.

Documentation & Asset Management

  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, troubleshooting guides, and inventory records.
  • Track hardware assets, software licensing, and IT inventory.
  • Support IT compliance efforts by maintaining accurate documentation and following established security policies and procedures.

  • Approximately 3–5 years of experience providing technical support, help desk services, or systems administration within a corporate, government, or professional IT environment.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and hybrid identity environments.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Azure or Azure Government environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, documentation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Intune or other endpoint management solutions.
  • Familiarity with Azure Government Community Cloud (GCC).
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and endpoint security.
  • Experience supporting cloud migrations, Microsoft 365 administration, or enterprise infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience supporting government contractors or regulated environments.

Salary Range - $60k-$65k
