Job Description :

This is a full-time remote position that can be located anywhere in the U.S.

The Senior Business Systems Analyst  for Billing Platform and Billing Operations serves as the primary liaison between Finance, Billing Operations, Account Management, Customer Success, and Technology teams. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely processing of billing data across the billing platform while supporting operational processes that drive accurate invoicing and revenue realization. The Senior Business System Analyst plays a critical role in investigating and resolving billing issues, identifying process improvements, validating system enhancements, and ensuring customer billing concerns are addressed within established service-level agreements (SLAs). Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, stakeholder management, process expertise, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality billing outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing Platform Support

  • Serve as the functional expert for the organization's billing platform and related billing workflows.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications and system solutions.
  • Support day-to-day billing platform operations, issue triage, and system enhancements.
  • Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and validation of billing enhancements.

Billing Operations Support

  • Collaborate closely with Billing Operations and Finance teams to ensure accurate invoice generation and billing execution.
  • Monitor billing processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and billing accuracy.
  • Assist in identifying root causes of billing discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure billing-related data flows accurately across upstream and downstream systems.

Billing Data Integrity & Governance

  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of billing data across systems.
  • Analyze data anomalies and implement controls to improve data quality.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation activities to detect and prevent billing discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for billing processes, business rules, and data flows.
  • Support audit requests and compliance reviews related to billing data and processes.

SLA and Issue Management

  • Monitor billing issues and service requests to ensure compliance with customer and organizational SLAs.
  • Prioritize incidents based on severity, customer impact, and business risk.
  • Facilitate issue management meetings and coordinate across teams to drive timely resolution.
  • Escalate critical billing issues when necessary and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Track issue resolution metrics and identify trends requiring process or system improvements.

Business Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Elicit, document, and manage business requirements for billing-related projects and enhancements.
  • Create process flows, functional requirements, use cases, and business process documentation.
  • Analyze existing processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support implementation of automation opportunities and process standardization initiatives.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and KPIs to monitor billing performance and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience supporting billing, finance, or revenue-related business processes.
  • Experience working with billing platforms, invoicing systems, ERP systems, or subscription-based billing solutions.
  • Strong understanding of billing operations, financial processes, and data management principles.
  • Experience gathering requirements and facilitating cross-functional stakeholder discussions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Finance, Billing Operations, Accounts Receivable, or Revenue Operations teams.
  • Knowledge of Order-to-Cash (O2C) business processes.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Zuora, or similar billing platforms.
  • Familiarity with SQL, reporting tools, and data analysis techniques.
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid project delivery environments.

Benefits eligibility may differ depending on full-time or part-time status. Compensation depends on the applicable US geographic market. The expected base pay for this position ranges from $80,600 - $110,000 annually, and will be based on a number of additional factors including skills, experience, and education.
