Position Summary

The position of Credit Analyst is responsible for assisting Relationship Managers with analysis and underwriting of new loan applications and portfolio management. Works to structure loans with low to moderate complexity while balancing sales goals with strategic risk management to ensure risk is appropriately mitigated. Perform continual monitoring of the loan portfolio to ensure credit files are complete and well-maintained and notifying Management of any potential adverse information and trends. 


This position is located in our downtown Seattle office and requires full-time, in-person work.    


Essential Duties

  • Physically attending work on a set and predictable schedule is an essential function of this job.  
  • Gather and analyze credit information on current and potential borrowers including preparation of financial statement spreads for borrowers and guarantors. Prepare written summaries and financial trend analysis. 
  • Determine the advisability of granting credit for diversified types of loans. 
  • Recommend loan structures and prepare loan approval memorandums for new relationships and renewals with oversight by Relationship Managers and Credit Administration. 
  • Analyze personal tax returns and financial statements.
  • Work in concert with Relationship Managers to organize and manage a tickler system on all loan relationships. 
  • Monitor periodic loan/financial covenants to determine compliance, notifying appropriate parties for non-compliance. 
  • Contact borrowers to obtain updated financial information to ensure quality of documentation within files. 
  • Assist the Relationship Managers in the preparation of annual term loan reviews.
  • Prepare various reports as requested by Management. 
  • Assist in the preparation of problem loan reports on adversely graded borrowers and assist in loan workouts as appropriate. 
  • Assist with special projects as assigned including, but not limited to, preparation of management reports. 
Requirements
  • Due to the collaborative nature of this position, it requires daily in-person work. After a 90-day training period, this position allows for one day of work from home each week. No exceptions will be granted.  
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university; 1 to 3 or more years of credit analysis or related experience. 
  • Knowledge of credit principles and commercial lending best practices. 
  • Proficiency with financial spreading software. 
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, read, analyze, and interpret documents and professional journals, understand procedures, write reports, correspondence and procedures, speak clearly to customers and employees. 
  • Proficiency with MS Office products including Word and Outlook. Expertise in MS Excel is a plus.
  • Very strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills required. 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with the flexibility for changing priorities; the ability to work with frequent interruptions. 
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and assist other department needs. 
  • Must display strong team attitude and have strong professional skills. 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.

Salary Description
$70,000 - $85,000 per year
