Manager roles within the Operations department are responsible for executing efforts that align people, processes, and technology to deliver improvements that advance OCHIN’s mission. Managers provide leadership, coordination and management over their assigned area and partner with leaders across the organization to support a larger mission. This role will be a leader in prioritizing work, managing resource allocation, scoping projects, improving processes, and growing and support your team members. The manager is also responsible for identifying, driving, and operationalizing improvements to achieve high-quality, measurable, and sustainable results that support OCHIN’s strategic goals and objectives.


The Manager of the Epic Rev/Access Product Team leads the Epic Product Team, a team of skilled Epic experts whose primary focus is to continually improve their assigned applications by defining and improving best practices, enhancing the product through a blend of member-requested enhancements, new features and functionality made available in Epic version upgrades, and insights from OCHIN teams. This role will be focused on Revenue Cycle and Patient Access applications and will work closely with other leaders across OCHIN. This role and the team you lead are key contributors to the continuous improvement and advancement of the products and services we provide to our members, helping to make an impact and improve outcomes. 


This role is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Product Team, including resource allocation and performance management, providing oversight to the team, providing leadership on the configuration and development of features and functionality, leading design reviews and technical change management processes, and working with various partners throughout OCHIN to continually improve processes and technology for our members across the OCHIN collaborative.  


  

Requirements

 

  • Manage assigned team members through their employment lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training and development, rewards and recognition, and performance coaching and management. Provide coaching and support continuous learning.
  • Manage and coordinate team objectives, resources, projects, and work assignments, tracking productivity and progress against established goals and initiatives. 
  • Ensure products continue to mature, solve member needs, deliver measurable value, and align with OCHIN strategies and best practices. Lead the design and development of new and enhanced product functionality. 
  • Ensure team goals are aligned with OCHIN strategic direction and that projects and project tactics align with organizational goals.
  • Ensure staff follow corporate policies, team standard operating procedures, service level agreements, and project reporting expectations. 
  • Proactively identify portfolio risks and issues, recommend mitigation strategies, and ensure timely escalation when project deliverables or deadlines are at risk. 
  • Design, maintain, and optimize team standard operating procedures, templates, and tools, identifying opportunities for process and quality improvement. 
  • Lead Design Reviews and Change Control processes and functions. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, leaders, and teams across OCHIN; reinforce communication and collaboration across teams to optimize work, projects, and outcomes.
  • Represent the Epic Product Team in committees and cross-functional forums to drive systems thinking and operational excellence across OCHIN.
  • Safeguard intellectual property and confidentiality, including but not limited to implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures where applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent relevant combination of education and experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, healthcare, health informatics, related field, or equivalent experience; master’s degree preferred. 
  • Certification in at least one of the following applications is required (more than one is preferred): Strong preference for Resolute Hospital Billing, Resolute Professional Billing, Prelude, or MyChart. Required certification in any of the following: Resolute Hospital Billing, Resolute Professional Billing, Claims, Prelude, Cadence, Grand Central, or MyChart. 
  • 6+ years of progressively professional experience in business service area, in a healthcare and/or IT setting required. Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience or leadership roles required. 
  • Experience leading Change Control and Design Review processes, required. Experience with Jira is helpful. 
  • Experience leading a team of technically skilled Epic application experts preferred. 
  • Experience working with Epic in both inpatient and outpatient settings preferred 
  • A keen sense of excellent customer service and how to deliver it effectively in all situations. 
  • Strong leadership skills, in support of the organization’s needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. 
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet or similar project management system preferred 
  • Ability to travel - 5%-10%

OCHIN uses broadened pay ranges to support equitable and market-aligned compensation practices. The final offer will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, certifications, education, experience, training, responsibilities, internal equity, and market data.
