Job Title: Cost Accountant
Job Duties: Ahlstrom Nonwovens LLC seeks a Cost Accountant in Windsor Locks, CT, to perform cost accounting activities to support financial planning, operational performance, and management decision making. Collect, analyze, and reconcile cost data for materials, labor, overhead, and
inventory. Prepare and maintain standard cost models and cost forecasts. Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and cost variance analysis. Review cost trends and prepare detailed reports and recommendations for management. Assist with budgeting
processes, cost allocations, and ongoing cost performance analysis. Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and controls. Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to enhance cost accuracy and reporting. Participate in internal and external
audits by providing required documentation. Utilize SAP and Oracle ERP systems and interrelated financial tools, Toolkit, HFM, Optirep, Basware, OrderPlan, Ariba, Nomentia, E2Open, and ChromeRiver accounting software tools. May work from home up to 3 days per week.
Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field plus 5 progressive years of cost accounting experience in:
- SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Excel pivot tables, lookups, and data modeling,
- Toolkit, HFM, Optirep, and Basware,
- Procurement and Payment Tools Nomentia, Ariba, and Chrome River,
- Inventory valuation, cost accounting, and financial reporting,
- Variance management and financial decision support,
- Audit processes and compliance requirements, and
- Standard cost accounting practices in a manufacturing or production setting
