Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced SAP PP/DS Functional Consultant to join our PP/DS implementation team. The ideal candidate will have at least one full end-to-end SAP S/4HANA PP/DS implementation, with strong hands-on experience in block planning, campaign planning, setup group/matrix configuration, detailed scheduling, and heuristics/optimizer. You will work closely with business process SMEs, master data teams, integration teams, and configuration teams to ensure the PP/DS solution is designed and configured correctly for finite capacity scheduling, sequencing constraints, and production planning optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, configuration and implementation of PP/DS modules for production planning, detailed scheduling and sequencing.
  • Configure and support key PP/DS functionalities: block planning (e.g., allocating days or shifts to specific product groups/colours), campaign planning, setup groups/setup matrices (change-over logic, colour switches, shift constraints).
  • Work with master data teams to ensure materials (finished & semi-finished), routings, BOMs, production versions, work-centres/resources are correctly set up for PP/DS.
  • Collaborate with upstream (e.g., SAP IBP) and downstream systems (e.g., MES / execution systems) to implement integration flows for planned orders, production orders, sequence/time stamps and feedback loops.
  • Develop test scripts, execute unit/integration testing, support user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure scheduling logic meets business constraints.
  • Document functional design, configuration settings, and maintain knowledge transfer material for future roll-out phases.
  • Support go-live and hyper-care phases by troubleshooting scheduling issues, optimising resource usage and resolving sequencing or block planning conflicts.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Information Systems or related field.
  • Minimum 1 full cycle end-to-end implementation of SAP S/4HANA PP/DS (preferably more).
  • Proven hands-on configuration experience in PP/DS block planning, campaign planning, setup groups/matrix, heuristics & optimizer.
  • Strong understanding of master data requirements in PP/DS: materials (finished & semi-finished), routings, BOMs, resources/work-centres, capacities.
  • Experience with integration of PP/DS with SAP IBP, SAP S/4HANA and execution/MES systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in workshops, lead discussions, capture requirements and translate into configuration.
  • Experience with Fit-to-Standard methodology, gap analysis, and documentation of delta requirements.

Desired Skills:

  • SAP Certification in PP/DS or equivalent.
  • Experience in manufacturing industries with sequencing constraints (e.g., color change-over, campaign manufacturing).
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and agile/scrum environment.
  • Knowledge of advanced scheduling board configuration (planning board, DS board) and resource networks.
