Associate Clinical Editor

About the Role

The Elsevier Care Planning Care Management solution supports patients referred for outpatient care management of chronic disease. Included are evidence-based Care Plan Guides/Care Plans that are integrated into HIT vendor workflow. The primary focus of the Associate Clinical Editor role is to ensure the Care Plan Guides/Care Plans are updated to reflect current evidence using a systematic evidence methodology. The role will engage with cross-functional team members in clinical editorial, informatics and customer success roles, as well as with HIT vendor representatives and customers to ensure the integration of evidence-based content into HIT vendor functionality to support clinician workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive literature reviews and evaluate clinical evidence to ensure Care Plan Guides and Care Plans remain current, evidence-based, and aligned with best practices.
  • Applying a systematic evidence review methodology to assess, synthesize, and translate new research findings into actionable clinical content.
  • Updating and maintaining care management content supporting outpatient chronic disease management workflows.
  • Collaborating with clinical editorial, informatics, product, and customer success teams to ensure content accuracy, usability, and effective implementation.
  • Partnering with EHR and healthcare technology vendors, including Epic and other HIT platforms, to support clinical content integration into clinician workflows.
  • Monitoring changes in clinical guidelines, regulatory requirements, quality measures, and industry standards, incorporating updates into content as needed.
  • Supporting content governance processes, including version control, documentation, review cycles, and approval workflows.
  • Evaluating customer feedback, usage trends, and market needs to identify opportunities for content enhancements and optimization.
  • Serving as a clinical subject matter expert for care management content, providing guidance to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Ensuring content aligns with care management best practices, NCQA standards, accreditation requirements, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participating in cross-functional projects focused on improving care planning, patient engagement, and care coordination outcomes.
  • Contributing to testing, validation, and quality assurance activities associated with content deployment and EHR integration
  • Applying integrate use of AI into clinical editorial workflow processes.

Requirements

  • Have current Registered Nurse credentials and a current Care Management Certification.
  • Have a master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years clinical Outpatient Care Management experience.
  • Experience in literature search, synthesis and integration into practice
  • Computer, Excel, Word proficiency
  • Able to work full-time during business hours in Eastern or Central time zone.
  • Understand EHR documentation workflow.
  • Display excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understand the Epic Care Management workflow (highly valued).
  • Have NCQA Accreditation knowledge and experience (highly valued).

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $71,600 - $119,400. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.

If performed in Colorado, the base pay range is $71,600 - $119,400.If performed in Illinois, the base pay range is $75,200 - $125,500.If performed in Chicago, IL, the base pay range is $78,700 - $131,400.If performed in Maryland, the base pay range is $75,200 - $125,500.If performed in New York, the base pay range is $78,700 - $131,400.If performed in New York City, the base pay range is $85,900 - $143,300.If performed in Rochester, NY, the base pay range is $71,600 - $119,400.If performed in New Jersey, the base pay range is $84,546 - $135,054.If performed in Ohio, the base pay range is $68,000 - $113,400.

This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
