Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Financial Analyst to support the R&D organization as part of the Product & Technology FP&A team. This role will partner closely with R&D leadership to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and support business decision-making across engineering and product development investments. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working cross-functionally with both finance and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze R&D financial data and prepare regular reports that highlight trends, variances, and opportunities for the Product & Technology organization.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
    • Assist in budget preparation for R&D cost centers, monitor performance against budget, and provide financial forecasts in partnership with engineering and product leaders.
  • Data Management:
    • Collect and maintain financial data to update financial models and databases supporting R&D spending and headcount.
  • Business Performance Monitoring
    • Track and report on R&D financial performance, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as spending against plan, headcount costs, and capitalized R&D costs.
  • Support Strategic Initiatives
    • Evaluate the financial feasibility of new R&D projects and perform financial modeling to support decision-making on resource allocation and investment priorities.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis
    • Provide financial analysis and reports as needed by R&D leadership, the FP&A Director, or other departments.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in financial analysis or a related role; experience supporting an R&D, engineering, or technology organization is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with both finance and technical teams.
