HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems.

The opportunity

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for project execution, budget, time schedule, project scope & changes, project team management and effective communication with both internal & external stakeholders. You will be the customer’s voice into our organization and will secure customer satisfaction and achievement of overall project goals. Our Projects are global and multidisciplinary and deal with the Warranty in our delivered HVDC projects as well as our Base Service Orders. The size of projects varies from 1 – 60 MUSD. Our project teams are multicultural and multinational.

The position as Project Manager is based within the HVDC Service organization. You will be a part of a team that has a passion for customer satisfaction and continuous improvements. How you’ll make an impact

  • Act as the main contact for the customer and the Hitachi Energy representative during the project execution, to ensure high customer satisfaction and build a long-term trustworthy customer relationship.
  • Project Management of HVDC Base Service Orders (small upgrade projects as well as material delivery projects), leading the project team with clear direction, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and achievement of technical, safety, quality, and financial targets.
  • Project Management of Warranty Projects, manage all warranty issues for your assigned project(s), distribute and follow-up the actions with the involved technical departments, suppliers, and the customer(s).
  • Register and manage non-conformances. Communication with customers and suppliers by handling CCRP’s from customers, register and administrate QIT’s and register CCRP’s to internal suppliers and organizations.
  • Manage contract negotiations and claims in collaboration with contract managers and legal functions.

Your Background

  • As a Project Manager you are structured, open-minded and communicative.
  • You are a curious person with the drive to challenge yourself and the organization for continuous development in both short and long term.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or have equivalent work experience.
  • Proven working experience in relevant field, preferably within HVDC Project Management, the minimum objective is Associate Certification (APM) or similar.
  • Contract Management experience and experience from field operations, C&P engineering and main circuit equipment is considered valuable.
  • As you will be part of a company that operates on a global arena, fluency in English is required. Swedish is strongly preferable for collaboration with local stakeholders.
