Job description

Ridango is the software operating system of choice for public transportation providers globally, specialising in automated fare collection, real-time passenger information systems, automatic vehicle location tracking, employee apps, school transport, and data intelligence to enhance the efficiency, accessibility, and sustainability of local authorities, operators & passengers.

We're hiring a Project Manager to lead delivery for our public transport technology customers in the Gulf region, starting with one of our current engagements and growing to cover other customers in the region over time.

You'll be the single point of accountability for delivery on your assigned engagement. You'll represent our company inside the client's governance structure, and you'll be the person everyone (the client, our partners, and our own delivery team) comes to for a straight answer on schedule, risk, and progress.

You'll be employed through our Swedish company. In the first years of the programme, you should expect to spend extended periods on the ground in the Gulf region, building close working relationships with our customers there and steering delivery through its most critical phases.

What you'll actually be doing:

  • Owning the delivery plan (scope, schedule, milestones, and resourcing) and tracking it against a contract with real deadlines and financial penalties for missing them.
  • Running the early phases: getting governance set up, running requirements workshops, and getting the design and testing approach agreed.
  • Leading the rollout: installation, integration, testing, training, and stabilisation once systems go live.
  • Managing the handover from project delivery into ongoing support and maintenance.
  • Keeping a live risk and issue log, and knowing when and how to escalate.
  • Controlling change: nothing gets added to scope informally; every change gets properly assessed first.
  • Giving consistent, honest reporting to the client, our prime contractor, and our own management.

What you need to suceed:

  • Solid experience running large, complex, multi-stakeholder technology or infrastructure programmes, at least 4 years in a similar delivery role.
  • Experience working under a contract with hard milestones, deadlines, and financial consequences for delay.
  • Experience working as part of a larger delivery structure, e.g. as a subcontractor or partner under a bigger programme, where you had to hold your own scope while coordinating with others.
  • A recognised project management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP, or similar).
  • Confidence running governance conversations with senior client stakeholders, including government clients.
  • Fluent English.
  • Willingness and ability to spend extended periods (several months at a time) on the ground in the Gulf region, particularly during the first years of the programme.

Good to have:

  • Arabic language skills are a big plus.
  • Experience specifically in transport technology systems (e.g. vehicle tracking, real-time passenger information, automated fare collection, or similar).
  • Previous experience working in the Gulf region.
  • Familiarity with public-sector or government client requirements (data residency, formal acceptance processes, etc.).
  • Experience with physical rollouts across multiple sites (e.g. depot or fleet installations).
  • Experience taking a project through handover into long-term support, and eventually closing out a contract.

Why take this on:

You'd be the person the client and our partners go to when they want a straight answer on where things stand. It's a hands-on role with real accountability, and if that's the kind of project you want to run, we'd like to hear from you.
