Job description

Senior Okta Architect

Location: Flexible across Intragen's European countries

Languages: Fluent English required

Level: Principal / Senior Architect

About Us

Intragen is a leading Identity & Access Management (IAM) consultancy, operating across five European countries. As an Okta Apex Partner, we deliver high-impact IAM solutions that help organisations secure access and drive digital transformation.

The Role

This is a principal-level, hands-on technical role covering the guiding knowledge and skills of a senior technical architect: hands-on delivery, architectural and deep solution-centred pre-sales, technical governance, team leadership and development of the Okta delivery team. It is not intended to be filled by one person covering every skill in isolation.

The Architect will bring credible, hands-on architecture experience across Okta Workforce Identity, Okta Customer Identity Cloud, and Auth0 — spanning cloud and hybrid environments, and customers ranging from SMB to complex enterprise scale, including greenfield builds and migration/re-build engagements. The Architect works alongside a supporting pre-sales and delivery team, with activity shared across the group where needed.

The role is critical to the success of the Okta business, sitting at the heart of customer relationships and stakeholder engagement, and requiring close interfacing with Intragen's internal and external Okta teams. It calls for an intrinsic understanding of the Okta platform and how it can be delivered across varying customer estates; knowledge of identity concepts outside of Okta is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Delivery

  • Deliver Okta solutions hands-on, covering both Customer Identity and Workforce Identity use cases across the current and future Okta technology stack.
  • Maintain some billable, hands-on delivery presence as the lead architect on client engagements rather than operating in a purely advisory capacity.

Senior Sales and Technical Governance

  • Work directly with clients and internal delivery teams on live engagements as a critical part of the end-to-end process from pre-sales to project completion.
  • Engage in senior sales conversations, providing technical credibility and governance across Okta and Auth0 opportunities.

Team Leadership and Capability Development

  • Manage and develop the internal Okta delivery team, provide a technical soundboard for complex problems, and offer solutions to challenges faced in day-to-day delivery of Okta and Auth0 projects.
  • Build depth in the team through mentoring and development, giving regular feedback to secure accurate delivery of projects by enhancing team knowledge and technical acumen.

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive hands-on experience delivering Okta and Auth0 solutions, including working knowledge of existing products and SKUs (such as UD, SSO, LCM, Workflows, API Access Management, Okta Identity Governance, Okta Privileged Access, Okta Access Gateway, ISPM, Okta for AI Agents, Auth0).
  • Working knowledge of authentication protocols including SAML, OIDC and OAuth 2.0, federation, and Joiner-Mover-Leaver processes built on both standards-based provisioning (e.g. SCIM) and customised integration patterns — spanning SWA, SCIM and SAML/OIDC app integrations, inbound/outbound provisioning via Okta Workflows, API-based integrations (Okta Management/Org2Org APIs), directory integrations (AD/LDAP via Okta AD Agent or LDAP Interface), and custom connectors for non-standard target systems.
  • Demonstrable, hands-on architecture experience designing and delivering Okta solutions across a wide catalogue of requirements in cloud and hybrid environments — with credible, proven delivery for customers ranging from SMB through to complex enterprise-scale user volumes and organisational structures.
  • Demonstrable, hands-on architecture experience designing and delivering Auth0 across a variety of B2C and B2B use cases — with credible, proven delivery for customers looking to implement greenfield or migration and re-build deployments.
  • Confident in proposing Okta solutions for a variety of customer architectural scenarios such as hub-and-spoke, federation, multi-cloud, and heterogeneous IT estates, within the context of Microsoft Entra and AD, and cloud-first/cloud-only strategies. Competent in articulating a new Okta deployment to displace an incumbent, legacy, or non-strategic IdP.
  • Experience operating at senior or principal level, combining technical delivery with senior sales engagement and technical governance.
  • Proven experience managing and developing technical teams.
  • Okta certification required (Architect or Professional level).
  • Fluent in English; not required to be UK-based, but must be able to support regional client needs.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package, including your Birthday Day off, flexible & remote working, Bonusly Reward Platform and Employee of the Quarter award.
  • 5 dedicated training days per year, including funded Okta certifications and specialist training.
  • A collaborative, supportive environment where innovation and creativity are encouraged.
