Process Engineering Manager
Job Summary
Responsible for leading Process Engineering activities within Semiconductor Assembly and Test Operations. This role drives process excellence, product qualification, continuous improvement, and manufacturing performance through effective leadership, process validation, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration to support business, operational, and customer requirements.
What You Need to Do:
Lead and manage Process Engineering activities to improve process repeatability, reliability, yield, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency while reducing downtime.
Oversee new product introductions, package transfers, capacity expansion projects, and product qualification activities to ensure successful implementation and high-volume production readiness.
Manage and mentor a team of Process Engineers in the development, execution, and reporting of process validation activities, including OQ/PQ protocols and qualification studies.
Drive process development, design reviews, and process refinement activities in collaboration with Engineering teams during product development and validation stages.
Monitor process performance through SPC, process capability analysis, and quality improvement methodologies to ensure stable and optimized manufacturing processes.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA), 8D investigations, Line of Harm (LOH) reviews, and corrective action implementation to address customer complaints, quality issues, and process deviations.
Develop, review, and maintain process documentation, including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, OCAP, Work Instructions, and manufacturing procedures to ensure compliance and operational consistency.
Collaborate with Equipment Engineering, Production, customers, and suppliers to resolve technical issues, improve equipment utilization, and implement sustainable process improvements.
Drive risk management, project execution, and resource planning activities while ensuring projects are delivered within scope, budget, and schedule requirements.
Provide technical leadership, training, and coaching to engineers, technicians, and operators while promoting a culture of continuous improvement, safety, quality, and operational excellence.
What You Need to Have:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, preferably in Assembly and Test Operations.
Experience leading and managing Process Engineering teams.
Strong knowledge of process validation, product qualification, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Hands-on experience with SPC, FMEA, RCA, 8D, Control Plan, and process capability tools.
Familiarity with semiconductor backend processes such as Plating, Mold, Trim & Form, Singulation, and Test.
Experience in new product introduction (NPI), process optimization, and capacity expansion projects.
Strong problem-solving, project management, and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to drive operational and quality improvements.
